🖤 ARC Review - Of Karma and Corridors by @sloanestjames

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I devoured this book, I loved every minute. Anna & Casper 😮‍💨😮‍💨 I adore them so much, both so lost but they were each other yin & yang ..perfection!

Casper entered the book boyfriend list (welcome, take a seat). Morally grey, yet still whimsical. He was such a golden retriever for Anna (and Debra) and would do anything to keep her safe or make her smile. Did he do questionable things? 🚩why yes. Did he just want her safe? Der. It’s called balance 🤭

Anna Kucera, what a queen. From being broken and stripped bare to gaining back her power and zest for life. By opening up and sharing her darkest secrets she opened her heart and soul to Casper, who loved her despite her past.

I have loved both books in this series but I do recommend reading Sloane’s Lakes Hockey Series, especially before this book if you want some extra context. I was so happy to get Anna’s whole story after reading about her in Rhy’s book.

🩷💎August + September wrap up 🩷💎

Apparently your girl has reached the point where two months become one 📚 The fact that I’m doing TWO months in one post probably tells you everything you need to know about how busy life has been lately.

But even when life gets chaotic, I always make time to read. Because reading is the one thing I prioritise for myself. It helps me unwind, escape the hard days and, honestly, centre myself when everything feels a little too much.

Finding my love of reading again genuinely saved me. I was deep in the trenches of PPD when a book about faeries somehow brought me back to myself. 🥹✨

Reading is my little pocket of peace. My escape. My reset. The thing I make time for, even when life is busy.

So here’s to the books that carried me through August + September. 🤍📚

Once again @rebeccayarros has me in a chokehold. I didn’t know how much I needed this, I loved every chapter and every extra bit of lore she gave us. You all know how much the Xaden chapter would have fed me 🤭😮‍💨. There’s still so much to look forward to in this series and I’m here for it 🖤⚡️🐉

FICTION VS REALITY 🏈📚

Reality: Me at the NFL in Melbourne today, having the BEST time and pretending I know exactly what’s going on 😂🙌🏻

Fiction: Give me the fictional athletes, the sports romance, the hockey boys, the tension, the banter and the “he fell first” moments ALL DAY LONG. 😮‍💨📖

Am I a real sports girly? Absolutely not. 😂
Will I devour every single fictional sports romance put in front of me?one thousand percent YES!

But honestly… today was a whole vibe 🏈✨ The atmosphere, the crowd, the experience, I had SO much fun!

…not shut up about them, fall stupidly in love with them, cry actual rivers over them and read every damn book they’ve ever written. 😂📚

Because apparently my toxic trait is thinking I can casually read a book and move on with my life. Babe… absolutely not. If I love an author, character or series, you’re about to hear about it approximately 473 times. 🫠

Monday mood ✨

Today has me wanting to escape straight to Lunathion. 🌙📚

Do you ever have those days where you just want to dive headfirst into the world of a book? For me, books are the ultimate escape (some may call it dissociation 😂) but honestly, reading has always been something that centres me after a rough day.

I’m nearly finished House of Flame and Shadow and WOW. The Crescent City series has been one wild ride. It’s my first urban fantasy series and it’s definitely different, but I am HERE FOR IT.

Currently about 50% into the final book and gearing up for some absolutely unhinged twists and turns because… SJM. We know how this goes. 👀
