Ben Cobalt deserves the absolute entire world 🥹 knowing how much heavy stuff he carries later in Burn Bright makes re-reading this scene hit 100x harder. The way Rose and Connor didn’t just brush him off as a kid throwing a tantrum, but actually sat down to validate his feelings and make sure he felt heard, their parenting style literally sets the standard. This whole family means so much to me, the Cobalt family superiority is real haha. Ensemble forever 🦋💙@authorkbritchie

Some characters stay with you long after you close the book. 🤍
These are just a few characters whose stories have stayed with me and reminded me that surviving something doesn't mean it gets to define the rest of your life.
I wanted to make this because stories about sexual violence can be difficult, but I also think there is something incredibly powerful in seeing characters survive, heal, struggle, love, laugh, and continue becoming themselves.
This isn't to romanticize what happened to them or suggest that healing is simple. It's simply a reminder that survivors are so much more than what was done to them.
What happened to you does not define you. 🤍
