If you’ve walked with us before, you’re part of this story.

If you haven’t yet, we’ll organise it properly.

See you on the trail. by @bookatrekking

Alta Via 1 or Alta Via 2? Stubai or Zillertal? Dolomites, Switzerland or the Pyrenees?

So many treks that you can't see the forest for the trees anymore. We get it. 🌲

So we mapped them. Every hut-to-hut trek we offer, with the hut where it starts. Swipe, compare, pick a region.

Still stuck? Tell us what you're after and we'll point you to your trek. We book the huts, you walk. Deal?

👇 Which one have you done? Which one is next?

Goatcast is live. 🐐🎙️

We’ve got the first three episodes online now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.

The idea is simple: conversations with the people behind trekking. Our trekkers, hut wardens, guides, filmmakers, rescue teams and whoever else has a good mountain story to tell.

We talk about the people, but also about the treks themselves. What they’re really like, what stands out, what goes wrong, and why some routes stay with you.

First up: Kimberly Kephart, Nicole Hill and Daniel Sulaiman.

More guests are already lined up.

Goatcast: Conversations from the mountains.

Have a listen, and don’t forget to follow or subscribe. by @bookatrekking

We are Bookatrekking.com and we are here to make your hut-to-hut trek happen! 🐐🫡

Maddy Williams runs Cicerone Press with her brother. It’s the guidebook publisher behind a lot of the dog-eared books you’ll find in hut boot rooms across Europe. She also wrote the guide to the Tour of Monte Rosa.

Alta Valtournenche
Aosta Valley, Italy | info below 👇

Not your average hut-to-hut tour.

The Aosta Valley is best known for its big names: Mont Blanc, Gran Paradiso, the Matterhorn. Between them lie quiet side valleys where you can walk all morning without meeting anyone.

This four-day trek starts high in the Saint-Barthélemy valley and heads east, crossing the Fenêtre d’Ersaz at around 2,900 metres into the basin above Valtournenche. Your second night is at Rifugio Jean Barmasse, overlooking the Lago di Cignana, with the Matterhorn’s Italian side on the horizon.

From there you drop to Valtournenche and climb straight back up to Rifugio Grand Tournalin, before a long final day past high lakes and quiet alpine huts down to Staffal.

Expect 13 to 16 kilometres a day and around 1,000 metres of ascent. This is a route for experienced hikers who like their mountain days long and their huts small.

You’ll find the route on Bookatrekking.com. 🇮🇹🥾🏔️ by @bookatrekking

Jeff Sandifort started out alone. He guided the trips, drove the car, did the shopping, sent the emails and kept the books, all from a village in Bolivia with no internet or phone signal.

In this clip from Goatcast, he talks about the moment he had to decide: keep it as a side thing, or go all in.

“I decided, yeah, let’s make it work, and I did.”

He moved to La Paz, put every bit of profit back into the business, and grew it from Huayna Potosí to Aconcagua and Torres del Paine. Today it runs from an office in La Paz.

Best of Karwendel, day 3 of 4.

@lisasmeekes is two huts into a four-day trek across the Karwendel in Tyrol.
Day 3 runs under the big Lalider walls and down into the Eng valley. A good day to stop for coffee and Apfelstrudel. by @bookatrekking

Tour Des Combin, 2026 by @bookatrekking

Worth remembering when you see the bill. 🍺 by @bookatrekking

It’s on almost every rifugio menu.

Stirred for up to an hour, cut with a string and served with venison, mushrooms or melted cheese. Polenta is what you want after a long day on the trail.

Polenta or pasta? 👇🇮🇹 by @bookatrekking

Best of Karwendel, day 2 of 4, part 2.

Four days hut-to-hut through the Karwendel in Tyrol, filmed by @lisasmeekes.
Day 2 ends at the Falkenhütte, a classic Tyrolean hut that has been carefully renovated. Tip: bring cash for dinner and drinks. by @bookatrekking
