I open books but I'm not an open book. Decided to share some tidbits about myself since we are really growing this book community.

🐦: I'm from Philly...hence the 215...it's a Philly area code. #Irepmyset

🐦: My 17 year wedding anniversary is next month.

🐦: I will be 47 in June. #officiallyanoldhead

🐦: I went to boarding school from grades 2-12. Think a dash of Hogwarts, a sprinkle of Facts of Life and a pinch of Annie. 😆🤭

🐦: I'll never say no to brunch, tacos, coffee or bookstore trips.

🐦: I come from a postal family. My Mom and her siblings worked there. Many of my maternal grandmother's siblings did too. I worked there during college, met my spouse there. His dad was a letter carrier!
*I was a teacher and a USPS worker for 7 years. *

🐦: Yes, kids...3, a bio son, my twin, and 2 stepkids: daughter, son.

🐦: I've taught Learning Support, Autistic support and Life Skills support.

🐦: I love crafting and am obsessed with miniatures!

🐦: I like even numbers.

Tell me something about you.

Please let me tell y'all about this beautiful book! This is the first book that I've read by Eden Royce. The writing was wonderfu! The story had magical realism, grief, family dynamics, secrets and self discovery all packed into less than 200 pages! Phee is 21 years of age and she is trying to establish a life for herself. We take a journey with her that was depicted so vividly I felt like I was there. I got to the last line of the book and I clutched it and smiled. Please do add to your tbr. It would be perfect for Spooky season!

@sirenbee_readsnthings here is my October Scavenger hunt! You come up with some fun things.

📚book that feels like a trick or looks like a treat: That Which Feeds Us

🪾 a cover with a creature, monster or other non human entity...this was a bit of a cheat 🤭: Your Favorite Scary Movie

👻 a supernatural story or one with a sordid past: These Walls Remember

🎃 a cover with black or orange: Fead First

🦶🏾a cover with a body part: The Death of Jane Lawrence

📖 a title that begins with O: Olympic Pride, American Prejudice

I really was looking through books. I had a book with a sea monster on it but the couple was more prominent so I decide to pivot(Sinner's Isle). This was fun and you should try it too!

I have a goal of trying to read down my BOTM books. This book was okay. The book tells the story of two best friends that work together. We get their background story and see their lives from college age until adulthood. One goes missing and the other is on a mission to find her. There is tense familial relationships, secrets, heartbreak and grief.
