POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi, I’m alive. I haven’t posted in basically 2 weeks but I’ve popped in to engage when I can, and I made one whole post for this week 😅

It’s national curves day, so here are my recs for books with curvy FMCs and men who appreciate those curves greatly. by @bookboyfriendsdoitbetter13

If you love a “my wife” moment, I’ve got the list for you 👩🏻‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏻 by @bookboyfriendsdoitbetter13

It’s National Georgia Day so I figured this would be the appropriate time for some 🍑 recs. I only include books that I’ve actually read in any of my rec posts, so I guarantee a peachy good time.

When I learned Giving In was finally coming to audio, the excitement was real. I binged the entire North Shore and Silver Falls series earlier this year, and I knew I wanted to go back and get Jake and Jamie’s story.

If you enjoy bully romance, this one is definitely for you. Jamie is quiet, shy, studious, on track to be valedictorian. Jake is the popular playboy with a dark side. The pull between them is undeniable but Jamie doesn’t want to feel things for Jake when she has steady, reliable Nathan who she’s also developing feelings for. This book is part of a trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger.

Aaron Shedlock was a really great male lead. He and Maggie Indara balanced each other well in brining such opposite characters to life. Definitely looking forward to continuing the series to see how the rest of the story plays out.

Audiobook, new release, ALC, Stoneview Stories, dark romance, bully romance by @bookboyfriendsdoitbetter13

It’s audio release day for Convincing the Catcher!

Rose Dioro and Devon Ryder ALWAYS deliver amazing performances, so I’m so excited to do a reread with them bringing out all the emotion in this story.

My first book by Sloane was Strong and Wild when it released, and I’ve been wanting Anna’s story ever since! Absolutely loved seeing her character growth. Casper is insanely unhinged but god I loved him. Weird to say but the “dark” scenes (I don’t want to spoil too much) were my favorite every time 😂 And I’m dying to see where she’s taking us with book 3.

It’s National Author’s Day, so I’m dropping my most read, auto-buy faves along with my top 3 recs from each. Let me know if we share any or if I have you adding to your TBR with these!

I found Lola this year and I straight up devoured North Shore and Silver Falls all back to back! All 9 books were read this year, and I’m itching for more to release on audio so I can keep going. If you enjoy dark romance, you must pick up her books.

I found Julia with Center Ice and have been a fan ever since. I have the ARC for book 11 already sitting in my Kindle so this number will definitely go up before the end of the year.

I’m the first to admit I’m not a small town girlie, but for Brighton Walsh, I sure af am! If I could live in any fictional town, it would be Starlight Cove. All of her books are so funny, have amazing family and friend groups, and the spice is delicious.

Leila James is another author I discovered this year and I listened to 9 books back to back before doing two more. If you enjoy why choose, bully romance in academy settings, you NEED these in your life.

I’ve read Sam from her debut, and it’s not just because I work with her. She is my absolute top rec if you want books that make your heart happy, and she has the best found families I’ve read.

I followed Candice when she was a bookstagrammer, and as soon as she announced her debut, I was in. The absolute queen of unlocking new kinks, each of her sports romance series deliver on the spice, the found family, and the emotional pull.

I’ve been reading Maggie since her Seattle Phantom series released, and seeing her evolution as a writer has been so cool. I can’t wait to meet the ladies in her next series.

To me, Helena is the OG of hockey romance. Her characters are always quirky and fun, and I’m guaranteed to laugh out loud.

If you asked who was the author that got me back into reading, it’s MB. I read Say You Swear in 2022, immediately went down her backlist, and have been loving her writing ever since. She’s my ultimate rec if you love a good plot twist.

This … should surprise no one. Reading Puck Boy actually changed my life because I wouldn’t be in this space if it wasn’t for that book. It’s my by @bookboyfriendsdoitbetter13

October reading wrap-up … and go!

Started the month by finishing Jenn Plummer’s MC series. The text threads are my fave.

Got to beta for one of my faves, CL Rose. Frozen on Second is everything you could want in a low-angst, spicy, second chance holiday novella. Full review coming when it releases on the 12th.

Face Off With Fate was added to my Hoopla. Solid second book in the series.

Worked with Jordana Blake on C/L edits for Freezing. This one doesn’t come out until February, but it’s super cute and I can’t wait to reveal more soon.

Did an audio reread of Badly Behaved. I will stand on the fact this is MB’s most underrated book and more people should read it.

Completed the proof for The Holiday Trawl, out this week. I’ll be posting a full review but you already know I loved these two.

Completed the proof for Entirely Us. Absolutely adore Maya and Oliver, the whole friend/family group, and the spice is spicing. Full review when it releases on the 13th.

Give Me Tonight was an ALC. Great end to the series (full review on grid).

Worked with Mya More on C/L edits and proofing her next why choose, snowed in, age gap, best friend’s brother, second chance novella. This one is so fun and I’ll post when it releases on the 19th.

Listened to Kate Stewart’s holiday books on Hoopla and LOVED them. Plight was unexpectedly emotional. And Sleight was incredibly relatable as a parent. Definitely recommend both.

Got the ALC for Giving In by Lola King, who is one of my most read authors this year. It ended on a cliffy so I’m anxiously waiting for the next audio to release in January.

Did the first two books in The Obsessed Players Club on Hoopla. I enjoyed the second more than the first, and I’ll probably finish the last two when I have time.

Ended the month with OKAC. Been waiting for Anna’s story since Strong and Wild, and loved Casper’s unhinged self. Great audio performances. by @bookboyfriendsdoitbetter13

I saw @fortheloveofsmut (and friends) do this Trick or Treat Challenge and felt compelled to get my shit together long enough to make it in time for Halloween 🎃🍫🍬 by @bookboyfriendsdoitbetter13

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

In the US, nearly 1 in 2 women and 2 in 5 men reported experiencing intimate partner violence at some point in their lives, with nearly 16 million people experiencing intimate partner abuse each year.

At least 5 of these included authors have been open about their own experiences with DV. Words and stories help heal. They make survivors feel less alone. They serve as a reminder that it was never your fault and you deserve much, much better. by @bookboyfriendsdoitbetter13

Bury me with these books.

They’re in German and my brain doesn’t know German but my heart knows these stories inside and out. As soon as I saw these gorgeous editions, I knew they had to be on my shelf, and I’m not kidding when I say I think they are the most beautiful books I own. My boys of summer are home 😍

Give Me Tonight was a super sold end for the series. I really enjoyed Sloane’s character (always love a black cat), and I think one of my favorite scenes is between her and Jax’s mom surrounding the idea of letting yourself be open to love after having a “I can do it all on my own” and “I won’t let someone close enough to hurt me” attitude for so long. The relationship Jax builds with Sloane’s siblings is super sweet. And the found family throughout this series really is so well written.

The audio for this—and the entire series—was wonderfully performed. Christian Fox and Vanessa Edwin gave life to Jax and Sloane with emotion that kept me engaged throughout. They are performers I can always count on to deliver, and this was no exception.
