I am convinced Abby Jimenez can do no wrong, but The Night We Met definitely hit a little differently than her previous books! 📖✨

While the vibe was a bit of a departure from what I expected, I was completely, 100% obsessed with Chris. Truly the ultimate main guy character. He absolutely carried the emotional weight of this story for me.

It didn’t quite touch the top tier of her back catalog for me, but it was still a beautiful, unputdownable ride.

I swear, Freida has a superpower for making me fly through pages. Dear Debbie was no exception. This was fast-paced, addictive, and (as always) the twists had me second guessing everything. I have never figured out one of her twists.

But… am I the only one who felt the ending was a little “blah”? 😶 I was buckled in for a wild ride and then it felt like we just pulled into the driveway.

Rating: 3.5/5 ⭐️ A solid, quick thriller fix, but I wanted just a little bit more at the finish line.

After three years, Colleen Hoover is officially back… and I have mixed feelings.

I flew through Woman Down in under 24 hours, so clearly it had its hooks. The pacing was fast, the tension was there, but I couldn’t stop bouncing between this is good or this kind of… eh?

Elements were intriguing and there were moments where the story genuinely pulled me in, but some parts felt underdeveloped or didn’t hit as hard as I wanted them to. I kept waiting for that emotional gut punch CoHo usually delivers and while it came close, it never fully landed for me.

Overall, it was an engaging, quick read that reminded me why Colleen Hoover is so bingeable, but it didn’t quite live up to the expectations I had going in. Still worth the read if you’re a fan, just maybe don’t go in expecting a new all-time favorite.

📖 Would love to hear what everyone else thought about this one.

This one had me in a chokehold 😮‍💨 Read it in TWO days. The world-building? Insane. The story? Addictive. I already know this series is about to consume the next few months. Highly, highly recommend 🗡️

First read of 2026🎉

I really wanted to love Layla, but unfortunately this one just wasn’t for me. I went in without knowing anything about the book and the heavy ghost/paranormal elements took me out of the story pretty early on.

While the writing itself was engaging and the atmosphere was definitely eerie and well done, the plot leaned much more into the supernatural than I personally enjoy. I found it harder to connect to the characters as the story progressed. That said, I can absolutely see this working for readers who enjoy paranormal romance or stories that blur the line between love and the unknown.

Overall, Layla just wasn’t my vibe, but if you’re into spooky undertones, strange twists, and something a little outside the typical romance box, this might be worth checking out. 2.5/5⭐️⭐️

I wanted to love this one…but I just didn’t.

It had all the ingredients to be a new favorite…dual timelines, historical romance…but for me, it just didn’t deliver.

I was so excited to read this after loving The Last Letter, but I found myself dragging through the pages. The pacing felt off, the characters didn’t pull me in, and despite the high stakes, I just wasn’t emotionally connected. 🫠

The twist at the end? Sure, it was unexpected…but not enough to make up for the slow buildup and lack of tension throughout the rest of the book. I hate to say it, but this one felt overhyped for me. Not for me, but I know others loved it!

New favorite romance!?!?!💗🏒

This book was SOOOO good. I’ve never really been into the hockey, billionaire, bad boy books…BUT THIS!!! Are you kidding??!?

I fell so in love with Stevie and Zanders and I did not want this book to end. Thank GOODNESS there are more books in this series.

I think this is my top favorite romance book thus far! Highly highly recommend📚

Time to start book 2 of the series!
