Hey Friends!
Decided to move away from posting my bookish stuff on my personal Instagram and on a new Bookstagram! Most of you know me @schnarbar, but if not welcome! I love to read and started reading again at the end of 2023! I love to support new and upcoming authors by promoting their books and doing ARC reads as I’m able! I also run a Book Club that meets monthly! Looking forward to reading and reviewing lots of great books on here! Happy Reading! #bookstagram #book #bookish #reading #booklover #arcreads #bookclub by @bookedupschnarbar

| The Divorce | by Freida McFadden 3/5 stars- A super quick read! The way Freida writes makes it feel like you are flying through the book. Not only are the chapters short, but the suspense of what is going to happen next keeps you wanting to read! This book is not as gory as The Housemaid and has no spice, so if you are looking for an easy suspenseful read, this is it! A few of the plot twists l saw coming just from knowing how the author writes, but there were others that definitely took me by surprise! We all had a blast talking about it at Book Club! #bookclubread #bookclub #freidamcfadden #bookish #read by @bookedupschnarbar

| The Alice Network | by Kate Quinn
3/5 stars- Another good historical fiction, decided to listen to it on audiobook vs physically read, and the narrator did not disappoint! Most of the book club girlies agreed that the narrator was fantastic and it made the book enjoyable! I truly enjoyed the dual pov aspect of the book. Jumping back in time by 30 years was really cool, but I did feel at times that the present day pov dragged on and was a bit repetitive at times… as a consensus of the group, we felt certain topics weren’t handled as well as they could have been and that certain language may have not been accurate for the time period. Overall, a very well written historical fiction that satisfies that need when you want to grab a historical fiction book! Highly recommend the audiobook!!

| Rites of the Starling | by Devney Perry
5/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Welcome back to Calandra! This book brings you right back to where we left off; with lots of travel, lots more questions and so many unknown answers that keep you wanting to read! The introduction of new the character POV had me uncertain of how I felt at first, but the more I read the more I enjoyed reading from Caspia’s POV! Devney Perry does a great job of keeping you on your toes and not knowing what’s going on until the very end and then smacks you across the face with all the emotions! Book three cannot come fast enough!!

First book of 2026! 4/5 stars; had some issues with the story line and character development/ interactions in the beginning of the book.
