This account is not for medical advice but an account of my personal journey navigating this diagnosis. I am an open book and will keep y'all abreast of any updates 👀. You like that pun? Yes I'm full of inappropriate jokes and dark humor, it helps me when things get heavy. by @bookedwithcarly

October, hoped to wrap up a few more books but it just didn't happen, to be fair both DCC books and Heat were over 800 pages.
Happy reading y'all!

Round #6 and final chemo. Wow, what a journey and we're not done yet. Double mastectomy is next this winter then I pick back up on biological infusions until probably the end of next summer. But this is notoriously the hardest part. Cancer and living through chemo is something I don't wish on anyone but I am so incredibly lucky on so many levels. I honestly can't put into words the outpouring of love from so many people, I've had so much support and in so many ways I am speechless. So thank you to each and every person who has been with me or rooting for me along this journey. ♥️💓

The Hope Bell. I've probably cried 3 times since my diagnosis. I honestly didn't think I would cry today. But the culmination of everything me and my family have been through with this. To the nurses, friends, co workers, and everyone who has been in my corner, thank you. ♥️ I'm still only 1/3 of the way through but this was the hardest hurdle.

Courage. Inspiration. Strength.

This past weekend our daughter participated in the the Colonial Field Hockey Club's "Play For The Cure" fundraiser. I loved seeing all the players and coaches decked out in pink supporting the battle against breast cancer and honoring those fighting it.

One of the volunteer coaches on the field, decked out in a pink wig was diagnosed with breast cancer in May and has been going through chemotherapy treatments through the summer and fall. Going through chemotherapy is literally letting your body be poisoned and watching your identify on the outside slip away while dealing with nausea, hot flashes, cold chills, and disorienting chemo brain fog. Chemotherapy takes away a lot, but it doesn't take away what a person is truly made of.

Despite the circumstances, she amazingly continued to coach the girls through the season. Sitting on the sidelines, I could tell some days were harder than others but she continued to fight through it all and share her passion for field hockey.

In the words of her fellow coach:

"You are an inspiration to us all! The way you face your journey with such grace and optimism is a powerful reminder of what it means to be a strong woman. You are teaching the girls a lesson far greater than field hockey: courage, resilience, and how to face life's challenges."

The first arc of this journey ends today with her last chemo treatment. She has a double masectomy and another round of infusions to follow but today we celebrate closing this chapter for our coach and my wife. by @bookedwithcarly

So thankful for my work family. Having cancer is obviously a shitty situation. Working where I do has taken a huge burden off my plate, my co workers have donated time, made adjustments to my need for time off, and celebrated and supported me through each step of this journey. I cannot express how much it means to me. Thank you everyone 💓 @ginachic125 @kate324167 @kedzbeach @labrucie @mariatomasetti @marcogidaro @rgcollin by @bookedwithcarly

This one is in honor of my son who loves One Piece.... but seriously even the seemingly "innocent" post about something in ACOTAR is giving me anxiety. Like I don't want to know anything even if you don't think it gives anything away. Just don't.

I don't blame well meaning friends and family when they say this. But most days I don't feel tough, and it's not like I had any other option. The only other option would have been to let it kill me.
So many people face challenges they never asked for and all they can do it meet that challenge and keep moving forward.

Wow, just wow. I think this is one of the best "why choose" books that I've read. I love the depth and growth of these characters and how well they compliment each other while still challenging them. I was so attached to the characters I had momentary anxiety because I was afraid something bad would happen 🫣 Highly recommend the Braided Fates Series, thank you to @brigidkemmerer for allowing me a chance to read this ARC and for giving us this series ❤️

50 degrees just outside of Philly sitting watching kid 1 play tennis. Enjoying the time listening to The Inevitable Ruin (book 7 DCC). Birthday activities for kid 2 later.
