✨️ Meet the Bookstagramer ✨️

Hi book lovers! Today marks my 2 year booksragram anniversary!!! I thought I'd reintroduce myself, as theres a lot of newcomers!! My name is Katie, but you can call me Kat! I've been an avid book lover since 2016, when I decided to pick up The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken, and I never looked back. Pictured are my trusty helpers, Milo (ginger) and Orion (Grey), almost every time I'm taking photos for a post, one of them has to come inpsect and help (aka get in the way, but it's okay cause they're cute).

My favorite genres consist of fantasy, sci-fi, romance, and mystery. I also enjoy manga, same genres but with some horror thrown in the mix! Some of my favorite authors consist of R. F. Kuang, Jennifer Lynn Barnes, Elsie Silver, Junji Ito. Honestly I could go on forever, haha.

Some favorite reads you'll probably see me talk about a lot are The Poppy War by RF Kuang, The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer, and the shatter me series by Tahereh Mafi!

Some other things you may see, i love baking, I love cooking, and I love puzzles!! So from time to time I may post about new projects!!

I'm slowly posting on YouTube, but my main focus right now is Instagram, as I work a 7-5 and don't want to burn myself out!! I'm glad you're here! And can't wait to see where this goes, I love our community ❤️

Some random facts about me:
🦤 I'm obsessed with Stardew Valley
🦄 I've binged Grey's Anatomy
🦤I'm Canadian, born and raised!
🦄I have 1 tattoo, but I have many ideas for more
🦤I don't have a favorite musician, ill listen to anything really
🦄I love the fall, but I can do without the cold. The colors are just beautiful!
🦤I have 2 kitties, they're spoiled rotten!
🦄I love Studio Ghibli. Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro are some of my favorites!

Happy Halloween!!

Hope everyone has a blast tonight! Stay safe 🖤🤎

Enjoy some kitty appreciation 🥰 by @bookingitwithkatie

Regardless how much i love spooky season, I also love a cozy fantasy sprinkled into the fall months!

A few favorites are:

Emily Wildes Encyclopedia of Faries @heather_fawcett
Assistant To The Villian @hannahnicolemae
Legends & Lattes @travis_baldree
A River Enchanted @beccajross
Death Meets Cute @jpennerauthor
Greenteeth @mollyoneillwrites

These books all have a very special place in my heart and i fear i will never stop raving about them!

Most recent read of these was Greenteeth and I dont really see it spoken about! Molly takes us down a unique journey of a Jenny Greenteeth and a Witch coming together to rid their town of a bad spirit ✨️ I went in knowing that it was based off Folklore and I was sold from there! 💜

Happy sunday!!!

Here is a highlight read of the month of October for me! This was my first Lyla Sage read and I absolutely loved it! I fell in love with the characters and the main fmc!

Im not the best with reviews or getting my thoughts into words, but i loved this one and thought October was a great time to pick it up, as the setting really fits fall and spooky season 💜

Happy Spooktober!

I love this spooky month so much and thought what better to highlight than my Junji Ito collection! Junji ito specializes in all things spooky, gorey, and all things creepy and crawly.

When I want something out of this world, bound to give me the chills, I turn to Junjo Ito 🖤🤎

Author spotlight time!

V. E. Schwab aka Victoria E Schwab! Ever since the day I first picked up a darker shade of magic, V.E. Schwab has been an auto buy author for me.

I have read everything but 3 books by her (im working on it okay 🫣😅) and this month I actually just read Vicious and vengeful for the first time, just to realize book 3 came out the day I finished vengeful. So you already know i picked it up and read it immediately!!

Her writing just sucks me in, I can get lost in her words for hours on end and not want to put the book down. The characters, the worlds, the atmosphere… there’s just something about the way she writes that makes her books so hard to leave behind.

Needless to say, V. E. Schwab will always have a spot on my shelves!

Who is an auto buy author on your shelves? Id love to know! 📚💜

♡ Out on a Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young ♡

I went into this book expecting a story, but I didn't expect to find parts of my own life reflected back at me.

Some of the themes touched places in my heart that are still tender, and there were moments when reading felt less like escaping into fiction and more like sitting with emotions I didn't expect to revisit.

What I appreciated was the reminder that life doesn't always unfold the way we imagined it would, and that complicated circumstances can bring complicated emotions with them. Sometimes, stories give us a space to sit with those feelings without needing to explain them to anyone else.

One of the interesting things about books is that two people can read the exact same story and walk away with completely different experiences. Sometimes, a story becomes personal in ways the author could never have known, and suddenly, the characters' experiences mean something entirely different to you.

This was a deeply personal read for me, and one I'll remember for reasons that go beyond the pages.

Some books entertain us. Some comfort us. And some find us at exactly the wrong—or perhaps exactly the right—time. ♡ by @bookingitwithkatie

10 before the end!

Some books by favorite authors that I have yet to get to, some new to me authors, and just overall anticipated books that have been on my shelves unread for TOO LONG 😅📚

Have you read any of these?? Whats on your end of year tbr??

A little library sale treasure 🥹📚

I found a first edition of The Diviners by Libba Bray in the Friends of the Library sale area, and I couldn’t believe it. This was one of my favourite books in high school, and I’ve been dying to get my hands on this edition for years. 💕✨

Needless to say, she came home with me. 🥹
To whoever donated this, she has a good home now ❤️

Reminder to hit up your local libraries! You never know what gems you may find!!
