🎉💨 Happy Release Day 💨🎉
CHASING SMOKE By: Piper Rayne

I knew I was going to love this book but I wasn’t expecting to tear up! 😢 It is SO GOOD and I highly recommend reading it as an immersive read (with ears👂& eyeballs 👀) like I did. This book is the second book in The Mercer Family series and I’m obsessed with this family. I’m excited to go back and read book one while anxiously awaiting book three.

Collins is struggling to move on after her husband’s death. With the help of Caleb’s best friend, Ansel, she’s putting herself out there. Ansel is a walking green flag with the biggest heart. He’s supportive and so patient with Collins. Honestly, his patience should be studied by all men. Their slow burn romance is one they try to fight off but the mutual attraction is undeniable. ❤️‍🔥

This is an emotional story of loss and heartbreak, hope and new beginnings. The authors explore grief with tenderness and care throughout the entire book. They don’t brush over it. The romance isn’t forced but developed naturally which is appreciated.

🎧 Connor Crais and Maxine Mitchell did an outstanding job in this duet narration! Their emotional performances brought these characters to life. The supporting narrators did amazing as well. The sound quality was perfect at 1.5x speed.

Thank you @hambright_pr and @authorpiperrayne for this ALC and e-ARC. This is my honest review.

📖Book Review: FIVE SPICY HOLIDAY NOVELLAS By: @authorlexidavis

Absolutely love the concept of having a compilation of five spicy holiday novellas in one handy dandy book. The fact that each one is centered around different holidays throughout the year? Genius! Celebrate the holidays with Lexi Davis all year long.

🧡 Halloween
CLAIMED BY HER MONSTERS: A sexy MFMM, RH, why choose monster romance that brings the heat!

💝 Valentine’s Day
CUPID IS A LIAR: The neighbor you think is incredibly hot has been stalking you all along in this creepy but sweet romance. 👀

💚 St. Patrick’s Day
GRACIE GETS LUCKY: Best friends become something more in this friends to lovers romance.

🩵 Easter
BAD BUNNY: A paranormal romance about a bunny shifter prince on the run. 👑🐇

❤️ Christmas
NAUGHTY SAINT NICK: Neighbors connect over a toy walkie talkie and sparks fly when they connect IRL in this neighbors to lovers romance. 🎁

While I have my favorites, all five novellas are delightful to read. The shorter lengths make them binge-worthy. I especially like that they all are a little different from each other. Whether you’re in the mood for a shifter romance or a friends to lovers trope, Lexi has got you covered. It wouldn’t be a Lexi Davis book without the spice and she brings it in all of them! 🌶️🌶️🌶️ She does an excellent job of balancing both plot and spice in her books.

Thank you Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, NetGalley, and Lexi Davis for this e-ARC. This is my honest review.

❤️‍🔥Enemies to Lovers
👀Forbidden Love
💋Female Rage
⛓️Cursed Bargains
🎡Seattle Setting
🤫Secrets & Lies
🧜‍♀️Siren/Mermaid Mythology

Blurb:
Evelyn Graymore is dead—murdered by one of Seattle’s most powerful men. Dumped into the waters of Washington’s Puget Sound, lost to the undertow of corruption, but instead of sinking into the abyss, Evie is reborn as a siren. She makes a bargain with Layne Murrows, an enigmatic man made of shadows who seemed to rise from darkness itself.

With nothing left to lose, Evie takes the offer of cursed power for the chance at revenge on Preston Willows, the man who murdered her. Armed with a deadly glamour, a voice that bends will, and the power to control water itself—Evie isn’t just a monster of the deep now, she’s a weapon. But everything comes with a cost, and the bargain’s rules are ironclad. She must feed on the darkness that festers in men’s hearts or die.

The catch? She can never fall in love, or the curse will slowly chip away at her lover’s mind and body, inevitably drowning them from the inside out. A small price to pay and not much of a concern for Evie—until she meets Ethan Ward, a paralegal who works right alongside Preston. Now, Evie must decide between the mortal who makes her feel like a human again, stoking the embers of forbidden love, and the enticing monster who created her. by @bookish206

I read 8 books and the ones that I read were pretty darn good! Some of them are in my top reads of the year. ❤️‍🔥 6 were e-ARCs and 2 were audiobooks.
