I‘ve collected so many books that year that I didn’t come around to read! Those are some of them which I really want to read next year!
💫
Any recommendations with which book I should start 2023?
💫
Which books of those have you read and how did you like it?
💫
What’s on your 2023 TBR?

✨Courage is found in unlikely places✨
💛
Long time no see, my fellow bookworms, bibliophiles and book hoarding dragons!
💛
I’ve been so busy these past few months, settling into my new flat, working full-time and all the bureaucratic shenanigans with university, but I hope I can post more soon! Or get back into the habit. There’s a book I’ve been kindly sent to review and I’m so excited to share it with you all but I need to clear my headspace and make a worthy post before I rush it.
💛
Here’s a little peak into my Tolkien shrine. How do you like it?
💛
Let me know, how are you doing right now? How has life been treating you these past months?
💛
I haven’t done much reading but had a good time nevertheless.

✨Who is your favorite author?✨
💫
Although I have a hard time narrowing this down to one person, one of them certainly is Terry Pratchett!
💫
I’m so happy to have snatched a signed version of his biography at @discworldemporium ! I can’t wait to delve into his life and influences! I can’t imagine under which conditions such a kind, satirical, faith-in-humanity-after-all writer would have lived or become the person he was. I’ve rarely felt like I’ve heard the writer and his thoughts behind the writing as much and in such a pleasant way as with Sir Terry Pratchett - I’m so excited to start reading
💫
Also, this is only the second biography I’ve bought! Which biographies do you recommend?
💫

✨Which languages do you speak? ✨
🏛
This book is the perfect book to ask this question! The tower of Babel was a concept that fascinated me since childhood! With my father being a pastor I've always grown up (in quite the critical manner though) with biblical stories and Hebrew, Latin and Greek. This relationship with traditions and stories and languages made me well-versed and interested in many language, myths and folklore (and rather non-religious) 🙈
🏛
I am speaking German and English, I am well versed in Latin, Old Hebrew and Ancient Greek, and then there's Italian and Spanish and French to which I have a special relationship each and technically I can speak them but actually I can only read and understand them, I am not able to actually speak them.
🏛
Also - I am "unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him" the @Illumicrate edition of @kuangrf Babel! I love slipcases for books and the artwork and the foiling are just 😘 🤌
🏛
Because I am so lucky and blessed by the RNG Illumicrate deities that I won last month's photo challenge I am only posting today - after this month's challenge has closed! But I simply had to showcase my stunning edition of Babel under this photo prompt!

✨What are you currently reading?✨
🛤
I am currently reading Temple Alley Summer. It’s already feeling quite autumnal in here so I’m late with this summer read! Sachiko Kashiwaba’s work inspired a Ghibli film! Not this book exactly but this one has major Ghibli vibes as well!
🛤
Can you guess which Ghibli film was inspired by this author?

✨second-hand finds✨
🦄
Do you enjoy thrifting and finding treasures among once-beloved possessions? I bought this gorgeous book bookend by @fairyloot second-hand online! 🌙 This magical creature was a find on the local fleamarket last weekend! The moment I saw it I knew I had to bring it home with me!
🦄
Also, my @gollancz edition of one of my favorite books ever - the Last Unicorn - arrived! It’s such a stunning copy that honors its content accordingly. I really loved the foreword by Patrick Rothfuss!

🌊
I wish I was reading this book right now but alas ~ I only have two weeks left until I have to submit my thesis so I won’t be able to read for fun 💀
🌊
Have you read this book or started reading it?

✨I’ve moved to my new flat!✨
🌳
I‘m still in the process of making my new flat feel like hole but I think I’m mostly done now!
Sorry for being so inactive these past few weeks, after getting quite sick (with the global health situation cause) I had to move faster than anticipated because I had to stay in isolation for so long.
But now stuff can begin to be normal again, finally!
🌳
Our new kitchen (which caused so many problems) looks wonderful! I found the perfect place for my @litjoycrate Lord of the Rings teapot! I had to fix it because the snout broke off but I think the Kintsugi fits well with the Hobbit mentality! And if you look very closely you can guess that the spoon in the sugar jar is the one spoon to rule them all - also by the wonderful @litjoycrate 💚
🌳
🌳
🌳
PS: I am still writing my master thesis, so maybe the next four weeks I’ll be not as active as once but then..!!! Then I’ll have my life back haha 🙈

✨What is your favorite board game?✨
♟
I do love Munchkin (Adventure Time Edition) and the Betrayal at the House on the Hill! But I also love Wizard, Gloom and DnD!
♟
I’ve snatched this gorgeous edition of the board game Thud - an asymmetrical chess-like game - which plays a major role in the Discworld novel Thud! It’s a great book about racism and the point of view - I mean, who really started (or won) the Battle of Koom Valley? The trolls or the dwarves?
♟
I love playing the trolls but I’m so bad at playing the dwarves! And to win a game you have to play both sides once and then count your points.. and playing the dwarves made me lose every time so far 🙈
♟
This gorgeous game of Thud was made by the wonderful @discworldemporium - I was so lucky to get my hands on it as it’s sold out most of the time.
♟
Have you read Thud! ? Or have you played Thud? And what’s your opinion on chess?
