We’re switching things up a bit in November and leaning into real stories that move us, inspire us, and challenge the way we approach this thing called being human. We have several amazing memoirs to choose from. Good luck! Poll closes on 11/1! by @bookloversboston

October is right around the corner, so it’s time to cast your vote for our next book of the month. Based on the feedback from our IG stories, the overwhelming consensus was to dive into all things spooky season: thrillers, dark academia, gothic vibes, witches, fantasy, and mystery. This lineup covers all bases! Have fun voting, BLB! Link in Bio. 🖤 by @bookloversboston

Thanks for voting, BLB. September’s book will be ‘I Who Have Never Known Men’ by Jacqueline Harpman

Prepare to dive into a unique story that asks some big questions: What truly makes us human? How much of ourselves is shaped by society, memory, and relationships? And what happens when the structures we’ve always understood no longer exist?

This book allows for a quiet, unsettling exploration of isolation, identity, womanhood, survival, freedom, and the meaning we create in an uncertain world.

Hey BLB! September’s book poll is live on our Bookclubs page. Head on over and get your votes in!

My Brilliant Friend — Elena Ferrante
Two girls grow up together in a poor neighborhood of postwar Naples, their friendship shaped by competition, ambition, family, and the limitations placed on women. The first book in Ferrante’s celebrated Neapolitan series.

Childhood — Tove Ditlevsen
The first book of the Copenhagen Trilogy, following Ditlevsen’s childhood in a working-class Copenhagen neighborhood and her early realization that she wants to become a writer. A sharp, intimate portrait of girlhood, family, class, and finding your own identity.

The Door — Magda Szabó
A writer forms an intense and complicated bond with her fiercely independent housekeeper, Emerence. What begins as a working relationship evolves into a deeply personal story about trust, class, control, guilt, and the limits of truly knowing another person.

I Who Have Never Known Men — Jacqueline Harpman
Forty women and a young girl are imprisoned underground, with no explanation of who put them there or why. When they finally escape, they discover a world that forces them to reconsider everything they thought they knew about humanity. by @bookloversboston

Our August Book Pick: Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

Equal parts funny and heartfelt, this novel follows a group of strangers brought together by a failed bank robbery that turns into an unexpected hostage situation. As their stories unfold, so do themes of anxiety, grief, forgiveness, and the surprising ways we’re all connected.

Whether you’re checking it out from your local library, borrowing it from a friend, or adding it to your own collection, Happy reading, everybody! Can’t wait to discuss it together. 💛

Join us Saturday, August 1st at 3pm to discuss our July book selection, Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Read. Space is limited so please RSVP responsibly. Hope to see you there! 🏄🏽‍♀️🌊☀️🩵 by @bookloversboston

🗣️ It’s that time again! In the month of August we’re diving into heartwarming, witty, and thought-provoking stories featuring unforgettable characters. From laugh-out-loud moments to emotional journeys and unexpected friendships, this lineup has a little something for everyone.

We’re trying something new this month: Ranked Choice Voting! Instead of choosing just one favorite, rank the books in order of preference (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.). This helps us find the book with the broadest support from the group - not just the most first-place votes.

Cast your rankings in the Bookclubs app, and we’ll announce our August read once voting closes next Tuesday. Link in bio. Happy voting! 🗳️💛 by @bookloversboston
