Pottery Barn Ghost Pillow Dupe 👻🎃🧸

$134 for a PILLOW?!? Everyone has lost the plot, I fear. Obviously that cat pillow is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life but under no circumstances should anyone be paying that price for that kind of nonsense. But fear not Bartholomew, everyone still deserves fun and whimsy and kitschy Halloween pillows! This was truly such an easy and fun DIY-I thrifted my materials (except the little pumpkin) but you don’t have to do that if it’s not your thing. A little fleece blankie, a stuffie with cute ears, a dollar store pumpkin and you are all set. An hour and ten dollars well spent if you ask me.

Crafting is resistance!!!!

Weekly Intentions ✨

This week I want to
🕰️wake up early so I can hatch properly and not be a gremlin who got fed after midnight
💡start using my UV light (if I get out ahead of Daylight Savings will I not feel like complete garbage this year?!)
🎃 decorate our front porch and yard for Halloween
✂️costume prep (ofc I’ve changed my mind about what I’m going to be last minute!)
👒keep purging my clothes, I’ve got one giant garbage bag all ready to go for donations and I’m positive I can get at least another
☕️make pumpkin spice coffee creamer (what else am I gonna do with a small amount of leftover canned pumpkin?)
🧣scarves, hats and mittens up from the basement
🍪bake oatmeal M&M bars-this one keeps eluding me for some reason but dang it I am committed!!

What’s something you want to do/bake/make/experience this week?

Review 📖🌊🔪✍🏻👻

Looking Glass Sound by Catriona Ward
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Someone (I cannot for the life of me remember who!) made a post recently about books to read if you liked Widow’s Bay, to which I said “say less” and Looking Glass Sound was on there. Can we get a little commotion for the cover art? No notes. The book itself was quite good! Very confusing (but that’s the point) and definitely gave eerie and unsettling vibes. I haven’t read too much Metafiction so I don’t have a lot to compare it to, but I enjoyed the concept and it definitely made my brain twist itself into a pretzel trying to untangle everything.

Read this if you’re looking for vibes that include:
-80s/90s setting
-coastal New England towns
-creepy criminals
-metafiction
-unhinged characters
-plots that don’t entirely make sense

Listen, it’s not NOT reminiscent of Widow’s Bay, but what was missing that truly makes WB a forever favorite, is the humour! This one is just the spooky stuff. And that’s okay! Things are allowed to just be one thing, okay? I will definitely be revisiting more by Catriona Ward

Have you read this? More importantly have you watched Widow’s Bay yet???

What I’ve been wearing lately ✨👗🧥🧦

A few work outfits from the past couple weeks (including my Oct 1st homage to spooky szn aka Drew Barrymore’s outfit in Scream 😱) I am struggling with my clothes lately (hello unexpected weight gain, where did you come from??) so it’s nice to try and still be creative and have fun with my wardrobe. Filming weirdly helps with that. It’s also reminding me I badly need a haircut 😂

What’s something you’re excited to wear this month?

PS I am wildly impressed with myself that I managed to film even this many videos of my outfits 😆 I definitely can’t keep filming every outfit but I do like doing it generally so I’ll probably keep going until it gets too dark during the day and my SAD stops from me from having fun.

Today’s Mood 🎃🧵🍁✂️

Hobbies include: making a truly spectacular mess, seam ripping, drinking more coffee than is advisable and forgetting to eat.

I’ve got today off and my plan to do all of the above and hopefully end up with something resembling a Halloween tote bag ✌🏼🤞🏼🎃👻

Weekly Intentions ✨

This week I want to
✂️finish making the big set piece for our Halloween party
🍪bake a batch of oatmeal M&M bars
🧛🏻‍♀️celebrate Hoa Hoa Hoa Szn with crafting and a Twilight viewing with @meadereads
📺get my cozy on with soft pants, hot choccy and Murder, She Wrote
💸necessary purchases only (which really means no going to the thrift store just to poke around 😭)
👟evening walks with the fam after dinner
🧵make a Halloween tote bag for meee (I was eye balling the little trick or treat bag I made for Reid last year and remembered that I am an adult AND have free will and can just…make one for myself)
🥦Eat my veggies. Take my vitamins. Try not to eat meals with no protein in sight. You know the drill.

What’s something you want to do/bake/make/experience this week?

Currently Reading 📖 ☕️🎨

Happy Sunday pals 🤎 This series has been on my list for aaages and I am so glad I’m finally getting around to it. You know I love a serial mystery with a loveable detective 🕵️ I’m only 1/4 of the way in and already I am charmed and cozy and very, deeply curious 👀 I have to say it’s really something to start a series knowing there are a whopping TWENTY ONE books ahead of you. I also now have another item to add to my thrift list *rubs hands together like a villain in a cartoon*

What are you reading this weekend?

Happy Octoberrrr 🎃👻✨🍂

She’s finally here! The spooky, campy month we all know and love.

Listen, if I see a little kitschy dollar store craft on my FYP I’m gonna be recreating it. These little plastic jack-o-lanterns come in a four pack at dollar tree and the LED tea lights are from Walmart (I did buy some at dollar tree but they were too wide for the mouth of the pumpkins so preceded at your own risk) This is a very satisfying five minute craft that really brings the cozy and nostalgic vibes 🎃🖤🤎🧡🕸️🕷️✨

Autumn Thrift Haul 🍂🍁🤎🛒🕰️

I’m back at it with another thrift haul. I have had truly the best luck lately 🙏🏼 Also I’m obsessed with the mic on the tiny mug 😅 I saw someone else do a video with their mic like that and immediately knew I was meant to see it and recreate it. It’s the little things ya know?

What is something on your thrift wish list at the moment?
