When I realised that my 10 year UK anniversary was upon me, I did not know what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to do something.
The last 10 years have taught me so many things.
I finished uni, I started my first paid publishing job, I met so many people.
It definitely would not have been the same without all of these people and this city.
Naturally, as it happens, the tube decided to start their strike on my anniversary, so a lot of people had to cancel last minute and I was not sure how the weather would be until we were actually in the park.
But the weather stayed dry and plenty of people still managed to come out and join me for a picnic.
And all in all, I really can't complain about how it all happened.
Both last week and in the last ten years.
Let's see what the next ten will bring! 💜 A hand with finger nails painted with the union jack in front of big ben. by @books_polished

Burning Crowns by Katherine Webber and Catherine Doyle
This is a Twin Crowns appreciation post.
And even though I am probably the last one to post my round up pictures of this year's ball, I still couldn't not do it.
On nights like last week, I am immensely grateful for being part of this amazing community, of living in London and having found people who not only love books as much as I do, but also like to dress up to celebrate them.
This is a thank you to @kwebberwanders for always including me and letting me celebrate your amazing success with you.
And to @mybookishlife for always being up for any crazy adventure.
To @rosiejenna_ who I met at the very first twin crowns ball and have been lucky enough to call a friend ever since.
To @princessofreading for randomly moving in with me every two months to eat all the food London had on offer.
To @apoc_rypha and @seventh_heathen for always being kind and there when I need it.
And lastly @knowyourhettiquette for being a ray of sunshine, no matter what happens around her.
May there be many more balls and bookish adventures in the future! taken in St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace by @books_polished

Cursed Crowns by Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber
Happy publication day everyone!
This is the first time in a long time that I'm not in London when @kwebberwanders celebrates one of her launches.
And it's shaping up to be a super fun one too!
So naturally I had to dressed up anyway so I could at least join the desert court in spirit!
And honestly, @princessofreading and I had way too much fun rolling through the sand on a dutch beach at easter 😉

The nails I painted at my parents house in Berlin this week with limited resources.
But I think all in all they turned out quite cute!
I love how the lightning turned out 😍💜

Guinness World Record Attempt for the most demi cups this Sunday! (German below)
Not many people are aware of the fact that my dad owns a lot of mokka/coffee cups.
5339 of them, to be exact.
This Sunday (18. September 2022) we will be hosting our very own Guinness World Record attempt with a small street fair and a public counting.
All money collected from donations and sales will be divided between Unicef and the German-Yemeni Association for help and development, to support starving children in Yemen, the country which brought us the coffee we know today.
If you are in our around Berlin this weekend, please feel free to swing by!
We are happy about any support and visitors 😊💜

Twin Crowns by Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber
Happy US publication day!
I have started this post five times since Thursday and every time I get into my head about what I should write here and who on Instagram even still reads the text under the post??
So if you made it this far: Hi!!
@kwebberwanders and @cat_doyle0 are two wonderful human beings who wrote this book, that I'm very much looking forward to reading 😊
And if you are interested in a YA fantasy about two sisters divided at birth, you should give this one a try! 💜

City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab
At the recent @veschwab event, I also got to spend some time with the wonderful @yaundermyskin.
She was telling me how much she loved Victoria's #CityOfGhosts series and it reminded me that I never shared this cute book with you.
This mini book is painted with nail polish and the pictures were taken in my local graveyard in Oxford.
I love the small cat on the cover and how it brings all of it together ❤️

Gallant by V. E. Schwab
After not having painted my nails in quite some time, I deliberately decided to go for a simpler version for this nail art.
I wanted to aim for something that would boost my confidence.
And turns out, it worked!
I am so happy with the result!
Sometimes you have to challenge yourself, but sometimes you just have to lean into what you know ♥

Dragon Legend by Katie and Kevin Tsang
This post has been much overdue, but instead of listening to my excuses, let's talk about the book instead!
Because at least now that I am late, it is out in the UK and US and you really have no choice other than to finally check it out.
Although @simonkidsuk have been lovely and sent me a copy of the book, I also went ahead and bought the @audible_uk version, because I loved rereading book one in audio.
And let's be honest, after reading the end of #DragonLegend, I had to go back and listen to it again, because 😱😱😱!!
@kevgtsang and @kwebberwanders really know how to end a book on a soul destroying note 😭
In conclusion: if you like stories about dragons and parallel worlds and adventures, go and check out #DragonLegend!
And then be happy I waited so long to tell you about book two, because #DragonCity is already out in the UK and I know what I'll be reading next 😎 🐲 🔥 💚

Hadestown
One thing I am definitely excited about moving to London is the ability to go and see shows during the week, without coming home at 2am.
Well whenever this move is over and I actually feel save enough to go to a theatre.
And in the meantime I will just continue to listen to my favorite shows and remember the time I stood in line at 8am to get standing Tickets for the last showing of Hadestown at the National Theater.
And I will always be grateful for the people who do these things with me 💜

And if you don't know Hadestown yet. Go away and listen to "Why we build the wall" and come back and tell me I was right to get up early!

Barnes Children's Literature Festival 2021

Things I can't quite comprehend:
I am in LONDON this weekend!
At the @barneskidslitfest!
With FRIENDS!
Talking to people about BOOKS!

Life has been weird the last year, but being here, watching people sticking to social distancing rules while also enjoying some great socializing has been good for the soul.
But I can't to be back next year on full capacity!
