⭐ How I Rate My Reads ⭐

I’ll be honest — rating books is always a little tricky for me. On one hand, I know authors pour their heart into every story, and I deeply respect that. On the other hand, I want to be true to how a book made me feel while reading it.

So my star ratings aren’t about judging the author’s effort — they’re simply a way for me to share my personal reading experience, whether it swept me away, left me wanting more, or fell somewhere in between. 📚💕

🎀 September Wrap-Up 🎀

September was a CRAZY month. I did NOT post as much as I thought I would and that’s okay, I believe. I am way behind on ARCs and not signing up for anymore yet.

However, I read one fantastic horror novel and I am happy that I picked it up. Loved the book. Thank you @sarahlangan & @simonschusterca 💕

I am also reading multiple books at the moment and that will be a separate post, I guess.

Anyways, that’s my September wrap up!

Trad Wife by Sarah Langan was an absolute mind-boggling read. 🤯 Thank you to @simonschusterca and @sarahlangan for the opportunity to read an advance copy!

Jenny Kaplan is a journalist who loves writing and is desperately waiting for that breakthrough moment in her career.

Then there’s Mia Wright. Wife. Mother. Entrepreneur. Social media influencer. She seemingly lives this idyllic, blissful life at Black Swan Farm. Everything looks perfect… almost too perfect.

But is it all real? Or is it just a carefully constructed mask designed to draw in vulnerable women? Or does Mia have some sort of… special power? 👀

Jenny’s life completely upends when she accepts Mia’s invitation to spend a week at Black Swan Farm. She’s there to write a feature on Mia, and perhaps expose the lies behind her seemingly perfect trad-wife life. A story that could finally give Jenny the career boost she’s been waiting for.

But Mia has her own agenda.

She wants Jenny to challenge everything she thinks she knows about marriage, motherhood, femininity, and what it means to live a “trad wife” life. Or… wait.

Is there something much, much darker going on? 👀

Sarah Langan literally had me HOOKED.

I’ll admit, the first 30–40% felt a little disjointed and messy, and I found myself constantly trying to figure out how all the pieces were supposed to fit together. But TRUST ME… keep going. That confusion is part of the experience because you’ll be sitting there trying to connect the dots, questioning everyone and everything.

And then… it gets better.

And better.

And eventually so completely unhinged that you might genuinely want to punch a wall. 😂

I was fully invested in the plot and loved where Sarah took the story. This was a horror novel that managed to tackle so many controversial and uncomfortable topics, and I really appreciated how she explored them without making the story feel overloaded or messy.

It made me question what we see online, what we believe about the “perfect” life, and how easily vulnerability can be exploited.

🎀 Monday Night Self- Care 🎀

This weekend, after a quick grocery run, I found this mail from Simon&Schuster CA sitting in my mailbox. I was honestly blown away. Even though I received the paperback copy earlier, receiving the hard copy along with a note from the author meant truly special.💫

I started reading this gem tonight and I am ready to go on a journey with Dr. Louis learning about what Carrying our heart really means. The forward in this book is exceptionally written.

I feel as if I picked this book just the right time when I needed to hear some positivity and affirmations about myself and my life overall.

🎀 August Wrap-up 🎀

August was extremely busy for me - went back to work and even if it is wfh, keeping personal and professional life apart is harder than ever.

However, at the end of the day before winding down I managed to read 5 books which was surprised me and they were all good.

My favourite was The Truth about Ruby Cooper by Liz Nugent. And even though, it gives me chills when I think about the audacity of Ruby and the lengths she has gone to justify her actions with lies, it was my favorite book this month and a strong contender for my top 5 this year. Thank you @liznugentwriter and @simonschusterca for the opportunity to read this mind boggling thriller. ✨
