Grief books usually promise a finish line, some point where things go back to normal. This one refuses that promise, and I respected it more for that honesty. It says plainly that a loss like this changes you permanently, not as a scare tactic, just as truth. There's a section on how children process loss differently from adults that I found genuinely useful, since the kids in my life have reacted nothing like I expected them to. The tone stays calm throughout, never distant, never overly poetic for its own sake. It doesn't try to make the pain smaller or tidier than it actually is. Some pages are hard to sit with, and that's exactly the point. Months later I still return to a few chapters, usually the ones on carrying love forward rather than letting it go. by @books_up222

Life After Loss by Sanjeev Sareen provides a compassionate sanctuary for anyone navigating bereavement.

Rather than enforcing rigid timelines or clichéd formulas for healing, Sareen assumes the role of a quiet, non-judgmental companion.

He validates the profound isolation that follows tragedy, acknowledging how the world keeps moving forward while a griever's reality feels frozen.

Blending mindfulness with emotional honesty, the writing is gentle, authentic, and highly accessible for overwhelmed minds.

This book does not make false promises to cure your pain. Instead, it offers a comforting space to process sorrow at your own pace, making it an essential human resource for rediscovering hope after a devastating loss. by @books_up222

Reading "Simple Thinking" felt like having a mentor sit beside me and explain things I always overlooked. Mukesh Sud writes in a way that never feels heavy, even when discussing psychology or decision-making. What stayed with me most was his idea that clarity, not complexity, solves real problems. Each chapter uses relatable examples instead of dry theory, which made it easy to connect the lessons to my own studies and daily choices. I especially liked the parts on listening and patience, something I rarely think about consciously. This book taught me that thinking simply doesn't mean thinking less, it means thinking better. A wonderful pick for young readers.. by @books_up222

Running a business often feels like constant chaos, so this book's message of finding clarity within complexity resonated deeply with me. Mukesh Sud blends behavioural insights with real examples, making his ideas easy to apply immediately. The chapters on experimentation and learning from failure especially spoke to my own journey, reminding me that progress rarely comes from overthinking, but from taking small, thoughtful steps. What sets this book apart is its practicality, nothing feels forced or overly academic. I finished it with a fresh perspective on how I approach problems at work. Highly recommend it to anyone building something of their own. by @books_up222

I picked up "Simple Thinking" out of curiosity, and it turned into one of those quiet reads that stays with you. Mukesh Sud has a gentle, conversational style that makes even deep ideas feel approachable. The stories he shares, drawn from real life rather than imagination, gave the book a warm, honest quality. I found myself nodding along more than once, realizing how often we complicate things unnecessarily. It's not a book that demands to be read quickly, it invites you to pause and reflect. By the end, I felt calmer and more aware of my own thought patterns. A truly satisfying read. by @books_up222

The author writes about grief the way it actually feels. Not as something you move through in stages and eventually leave behind. But as something that changes the shape of you permanently.

He writes about all of that without trying to make it smaller or more manageable than it is. And that honesty was the first thing in a long time that made me feel genuinely understood rather than just advised.

The reflections at the end of each chapter were my favourite. They felt less like exercises and more like a hand reaching across the page.

Maybe healing is not about forgetting. Maybe it is about learning to carry the love with you while still finding a way to live.

A thoughtful, gentle read about grief, love, acceptance and finding your way back to yourself.

Book review # 699

Book name : Life after loss
Author : Sanjeev Sareen

About the book 📖

"Acceptance does not mean that we approve of what happened. It does not mean that we stop missing the person we love. It does not mean that we stop feeling sadness. Acceptance simply means acknowledging reality as it is. Nothing more. Nothing less."
~

Grief often numb a person . The loss of the person can make us forget to look forward to life anymore . It's painful, every thought of the departed soul , every memory stings and we get socked in grief, pain . We wrap Disappointments , the blurry trust upon God , the willingness to live , reasons to smile around just like a tight blanket adamant to hold for life .

Life doesn't stop at anyone's pain or loss. Moving forward doesn't mean letting the person go from our heart completely. Through smiles too we can heal with time .

The author through this book doesn't offer any motivational quotes or speech it just shares its own painful stories through smiles , tears and with a lil hope . It just sits besides a person who has ever encountered such painful moments in their life .

Those Days, That Promise is the book that will transport you to your school life, full of fun, masti and making unforgettable memories.

This book describes the friendship of 6 friends in XII C and how they stand by each other through thick and thin.
I enjoyed reading this book thoroughly. I instantly recalled my school days while reading the book.

I loved the way all friends enjoy studying as well as doing pranks during their school XII C times. I enjoyed the moment when they bunked the test class. Their daring is wow. Truly, amazing and light read. I also loved the way LLB word changes as per the evolvement of friends. From Lord of Last Benchers to Legends Living Better, etc, etc. I also enjoyed reading the part when they enjoyed the party after not getting punished ... The way one of the LLB gang person gets drunk and whole group helps him.

This book truly tells about the friendship bond in depth and how friendship shapes our life. Friendship bond we make in school and colleges are for ages.

📖 Life After Loss — Sanjeev Sareen

Some books are read.
Some books are felt.

Life After Loss is one of those books.

Sanjeev Sareen writes about loss not as something we simply “move on” from, but as something that quietly becomes a part of who we are. The book made me pause and think about how differently everyone carries grief—and how healing doesn’t necessarily mean forgetting.

What stayed with me most was the gentle reminder that life can continue after loss, even when it looks completely different than before.

A thoughtful read for anyone who has experienced loss, or anyone trying to understand what it means to live with it. 🤍

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½/5

BOOK NAME - THOSE DAYS , THAT PROMISE
AUTHOR - AAnand soni
Book review -
The first time I read ‘Those Days, That Promise' I was seeking a nostalgic return to my childhood and a feel good moment, but got my heart in another kind of way. The scenes in the narrative are cleverly woven into the lives of Gopal and the 'LLB Gang', and it paints a vivid picture of colourful school corridors, late night conversations, sharing of tiffins and the unconditional love of adolescent friendship. What I love about this book is the fact that it is a natural narration, no forced humour and no forced friendship. Rather, it is a true reflection of our golden years, picturing the joy of laughter and companionship in a golden vein that is like a coming-of-age film from our past such as 3 Idiots and Chhichhore. But there are certain moments in the book that are truly moving when it addresses the ironies and bitterness of being grown up as an adult in all the levity and more than a little chaos in the classroom. The author has a very sensitive way with the ways in which life can push us out of each other's lives without a loud bang or an obvious betrayal; in other words, that distance is not necessarily the result of a big argument or a betrayal but rather a matter of the simple passage of time and the changing of priorities. It's a sweet, sincere, and always-on-the-mark account of the high aspirations we have as we're young, and if they can be maintained for life. I believe it's a good book to read to remember who we are, and that we should impart it to our friends and family, and anyone who ever looked back and had a sad or happy tear in their eye.

Book Review | Those Days, That Promise ✨

Some stories don’t just tell you about the past—they make you feel like you’ve lived those moments again. ❤️ Those Days, That Promise is a beautiful nostalgic journey filled with school memories, innocent friendships, childhood dreams, and promises that time couldn’t completely erase.

Following Gopal as he revisits his old school diary, the story beautifully captures the little things that made those days special—classroom fun, lunch breaks, bus rides, festivals, exams, and friendships. What makes it even more touching is the emotional layer beneath the nostalgia: the unfinished promises, old connections, and people who still remain somewhere in our hearts.
The writing feels simple, warm, and easy to connect with. There are no unnecessary complications—the beauty lies in the emotions and those small moments that quietly remind you of your own childhood.🥹

By the end, I found myself remembering my own school days and wondering how quickly those carefree years became memories. A heartfelt read for anyone who loves nostalgia, friendship, childhood memories, and emotional stories.📖❤️✨ by @books_up222
