Passion Project: A Debut Novel by @londonsperrywrites

✨”Being up here makes me feel small, but being with you makes me feel significant.” ✨

A story of two people meeting in a city full of endless possibilities. One is navigating the heaviness of loss; the other offers quiet, unwavering support. Both are searching for something to help them heal. Passion Project is a deeply moving and heartfelt novel that captures the delicate balance of grief, hope, and connection.

Bennett is trying to make sense of the overwhelming weight of grief, while Henry gentle, patient, and utterly captivating is always by her side. His presence is steady and reassuring, the kind of support that asks for nothing in return yet means everything.

This book had me hooked from the very first paragraph. I absolutely fell in love with London Sperry’s writing. It felt as though she was speaking directly to me. The prose is incredibly relatable, capturing raw emotion with such authenticity that it draws you in completely. I found myself deeply connected to the characters, each moment feeling vivid and personal.

Henry, in particular, represents a sense of safety and comfort like a warm, protective blanket on a rainy day. He is the embodiment of peace and emotional warmth, a reminder that sometimes healing comes not from grand gestures, but from someone simply being there.

The novel’s portrayal of mental health struggles and the healing process is authentic and honest. It beautifully balances humor and heartbreak, making it all the more real. Passion Project is a testament to the quiet power of love, presence, and finding solace in the most unexpected of places. taken in Bookstagram by @booksononepage

The love of my afterlife by @kirsty_greenwood

“ Life is too short to wait around on an idea”

☁️ I have just finished this book and don’t know what to say, actually I do absolutely loved it.

This book had me bursting with laughter one minute to bursting out crying the next. It is a fun, heartwarming an original story and concept that I haven’t read in a while.

☁️ The story is set around Delphie who dies and meets the love of her life in the afterlife and we follow her journey searching for her soul mate. It’s an interesting interplay between the morbid and the fun.

I loved Delphie her vulnerability made her relatable and the further along in the story I got, the more I rooted for her to get everything she deserves.

☁️ The side characters in this story just topped it off for me they were eccentric, unconventional, fun, loveable characters they were just brilliant!! - my fave has to be Mr Yoon, the more I read about his journey the more it made me realise you are never to old or too young to follow your dreams and what shapes you makes you stronger.

An imaginative romantic comedy with a delightful cast, a premise worthy of the big screen. What made this story extra special is how Kirsty discussed important topics of loneliness, grief and bullying which is hard to include in a “rom com” but one done brilliantly.

☁️ If THE LOVE OF MY AFTERLIFE is any indication of the level of storytelling Kirsty Greenwood is capable of then I will definitely be checking out her other novels.

I would love for you all to read it, share your thoughts and let me know if you have already read it X taken in BOOKSTA by @booksononepage

The Last Letter by @rebeccayarros

Thank you
@instabooktours @bantambooksuk @books.afterhours
#Ad/PR

This book… 🥺💔

“ sometimes the losses are just important as the wins’ the wins feel really good and let us celebrate what we did right but the losses they teach us more”

Where do I even begin with this book?

The Last Letter is such a powerful story about loss, guilt and love. It follows Ella, a single mum raising her twins, and Beckett known as Chaos, a soldier and her brother Ryan’s best friend. Their story begins through letters, when Ella starts writing to Chaos while he’s away serving.

Ella and Chaos are strangers, yet through their letters they slowly become each other’s safe place. They share their fears, their hopes, their everyday lives and the things they perhaps couldn’t say out loud to anyone else. There was something so beautiful about watching their relationship grow through words first.

The letters weren’t just letters. They were their relationship. They were their connection. They were a piece of each other when they were miles apart, and a place where they could completely be themselves. 💌

I found this book difficult to read at times because of my own journey. Some parts felt a little too close to home, and there were moments where I had to put the book down and take a breath. This is one of those stories that reaches into some very painful places.

⚠️ Please read the trigger warnings before starting this book. There are some very heavy and heartbreaking themes.

And Chaos… ❤️

What a powerful man.

You came when this family needed you the most. You were so incredibly selfless. The guilt you carried, the love you had for Ella and the children, and the way you continued to show up even when you were hurting yourself completely broke my heart.

I loved that Ella had fallen in love with Chaos through his words before she truly knew Beckett. Their connection was built on honesty, vulnerability and the feeling of being understood.

This book absolutely broke my heart, but there was so much love through the pain.

Heartbreaking. Emotional. Powerful. Unforgettable. ❤️‍🩹 by @booksononepage

🍂 The Maple Falls Series —The Pumpkin Pie Book Nook @harpergrahambooks

Thank you @bookouture for early access and having me the book tour.
AD/Gifted

I’ve truly fallen in love with the Maple Falls series from the very first book, The Cinnamon Spice Inn, and five books in, I honestly feel like Maple Falls is somewhere I could walk into and call home. ❤️

This latest story follows Robyn, whose heartbreak leads her to escape to a small town bookstore in Maple Falls, and Tyler, a single dad with a beautiful daughter, Emma. What follows is a story of love, healing, second chances, and finding the courage to open your heart again with a little mystery her great grandmother left behind.

“This is the part no one sees. The part where the adrenaline fades and what’s left is her brave, exhausted, brilliant…”

Once again @harpergrahambooks has written a story that’s so much more than romance. Of course, there’s the swoony love story we all come for, but it’s the real life moments, family dynamics, healing and characters that feel genuinely relatable that make you so invested.

And one of my favourite things about this series is getting to see previous characters come back into the books and catch up with what’s happening in their lives. It makes Maple Falls feel like a real, living community rather than simply the setting for each story.

These books are the literary equivalent of a warm hug. They have that cosy small town charm, but there’s also plenty of heart, emotion and real life struggles to keep you completely invested.

At this point, I genuinely feel like I live in Maple Falls. I know the characters, the shops, the little community, and I’m already wondering who is going to fall in love next! ❤️ I would happily become part of Mr C and Mrs Bishop’s circle.

There’s something so special about watching a fictional town grow book by book until it starts to feel like home. And now I’m left with that bittersweet feeling of finishing another Maple Falls story while desperately wanting the next one.

@harpergrahambooks i’m ready whenever you are… because I am definitely not ready to leave Maple Falls yet! 🍂❤️ by @booksononepage

✨🕊️ Book Review | People in Love by @clairedaverley

Favourite Quote :
“Your own life should be shared with the one you are most yourself with. The one you can talk to about uncomfortable things. The one who stands by you. Who doesn’t question who you are, or the tiny choices you make.”

When Nora’s partner, Robin, proposes, her future seems certain. But on the night of their engagement party, Bren someone from her past reappears, reigniting old feelings and forcing her to question the life she thought she wanted.

A beautifully character driven story about love, friendship, grief, healing, and learning to let go of the past. Every emotion felt so real, and I was completely invested in Nora, Bren and Robin.

I was holding it together until the wedding dress scene. That completely got me 🥹

My favourite part was reading Robin’s perspective. It’s rare to read a love triangle from the man’s point of view when the woman is torn between two people. I genuinely couldn’t tell which way the story was going, and that made it all the more emotional. The character work was everything I loved about this book.

Josie was my favourite character such a wise woman. I loved seeing how life had shaped her into the person she became.

Clare Daverley’s writing is beautiful. She has a way of making you feel like you’re living every moment alongside the characters, taking you on an emotional journey that leaves you reflecting on your own life. by @booksononepage

✨ Book Review 💋

Mad Mabel by @sallyhepworth
Publication Date: 9th July 26
AD | Gifted

Firstly, a huge thank you to @bookbreakuk, @panmacmillan and of course the lovely @libraryofchlo for having me on this book tour and for the opportunity to read and review Mad Mabel.

I absolutely loved this book. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it was such a heartfelt, emotional read.

I completely adored the character of 81 year old Elsie Mabel Fitzpatrick, aka “Mad Mabel.” Even though she tries so hard to make everyone believe she’s unlovable, you can’t help but love her. She’s a grumpy old woman who, deep down, just wants to be loved, accepted, and noticed.

Told over a dual timeline, we slowly learn why Mabel became known as “Mad Mabel” from a very young age, and how that one label shaped the rest of her life. My heart absolutely broke for her. People were so quick to believe the gossip instead of taking the time to understand the woman behind it, and that really frustrated me.

And Persephone … you little gem you may only be 7 years old but you were wise 🤍 I was just so happy Mabel met you. You helped Mabel in every way possible, and she deserved someone who truly saw her for the wonderful person she really was.

I have to say, Mabel and Persephone’s conversations at the beginning had me in hysterics. Their banter was so witty, and honestly… I hope I’m a little bit like Mabel when I’m older! 😂

“Persephone told me I needed to ‘curate my aesthetic.’ I told her my aesthetic was ‘waiting for the sweet release of death,’ and she asked if that came in a pastel color.”

That quote completely sums up Mabel’s humour.

Even when life became a little brighter for Mabel, the effects of being known as “Mad Mabel” never really went away. It just shows how much damage labels and judgement can do.

@sallyhepworth has written such a beautiful story about kindness, compassion, and looking beyond first impressions. I honestly loved every minute of this one.

And all I can say is: no notes ☂️ by @booksononepage

The Hot Honey Hideaway by @harpergrahambooks 🍯🐝

“Love does not only grant us the freedom to run, but also the courage to stay.”

Thank you @bookouture for giving me early access to read this book

I have to admit, when I first picked up The Cinnamon Spice Inn, it was completely on a whim and I’m so glad I did. I’ve absolutely fallen in love with the Maple Falls series and honestly, I just want to live there even with the watchful eyes of Mrs. C and Mrs. Bishop (who are definitely my favourite characters 😅).

Every character, every shop, and every couple hold such a special place in my heart.

The Hot Honey Hideaway did not disappoint. If I had to choose, this might actually be my favourite in the series so far.

Joe and Krista’s relationship felt so real, tender, and genuine. Watching Joe truly fall in love with every part of Krista especially the way she always puts everyone else before herself, even while feeling a little lost was beautiful to read. Seeing Krista help Joe heal old wounds while he slowly falls in love with Maple Falls as a home? My heart.💛

This series feels like a warm hug wrapped around your happiest days. It makes me smile while still managing to handle sensitive topics with such beautiful writing.

One of my all time favourite romance series, and I already can’t wait for the next book. 💛✨ by @booksononepage

The Summer That Changed Us by @billieswannauthor

✨ Sometimes love isn’t about getting a second chance… it’s about finding the courage to take it.

AD | Gifted

Thank you to @billieswannauthor and @instabooktours for the advance copy and goodies.

Some books don’t just tell a story, they stay with you, quietly breaking your heart and putting it back together again. The Summer That Changed Us is one of those. My emotions were all over the place highs and lows throughout.

Seventeen years after one life-changing summer, Ellie has built a small, safe life for herself. But when Jackson comes back into it, everything she’s tried to bury resurfaces. The truth is, she never stopped loving him… she’s just learned how to live without him.

Told across dual timelines, I loved how this was done. It really adds depth and helps you slowly piece together what happened between them, along with the emotional impact it had on both of their lives. It unravels the past the secrets and choices that shaped everything making it feel so raw and real. You could feel how scared Ellie was whilst also trying to protect everything she loves.

This isn’t a light romance. It touches on grief, love, and difficult choices, so definitely check trigger warnings. But underneath it all, there’s a quiet hope and a beautifully done second chance romance.

The friendships and family dynamics also add so much grounding and authenticity to the story.

For a debut, this is emotional, honest, and one that will stay with me @billieswannauthor I’m so grateful to have been chosen to read an early copy. It was truly a privilege to experience such a heartfelt story that feels like it comes straight from your heart 🤍 taken in BOOKSTA by @booksononepage

✨ Yesteryear Review ✨ by @caroclaireburke

“The days of yesteryear were not for the faint of heart”

In Yesteryear, Natalie is a wildly successful “tradwife” influencer, known for showcasing a picture perfect, old fashioned life online filled with rural living, homemade meals, and traditional roles, but her carefully crafted world unravels when she suddenly wakes up in what seems to be the mid-1800s, forced to endure the brutal, unfiltered reality behind the lifestyle she once idealised.

One of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint. From the first few chapters, I felt disoriented in the best way constantly questioning what’s real and trying to piece everything together. I couldn’t put it down.

The story is unpredictable, with an ending I never saw coming. It plays so well with perception, memory, and reality, creating this unsettling feeling where everything is almost familiar… but slightly off.

What really stood out was how it reflects today’s social media world how easily stories can be shaped and identities curated. It made me think about how much of what we see (and even believe about ourselves) is filtered or distorted.

And Natalie… such a chaotic main character. Frustrating, unpredictable, but impossible to look away from you’re right there with her through every twist.

But honestly, my heart belonged to the children caught up in the world Natalie created.

Overall: Yesteryear was unhinged in the best way. Smart, gripping, and thought provoking. Perfect if you love books that mess with your mind but make you think about the world we really live in. taken in Bookstagram by @booksononepage

Thought this should be on my main feed, a bit different for me, but I loved putting this artwork together. If you’ve read the book, this should make sense 🐬

Every time I pick up a book by @carleyfortune , I think she can’t possibly top the last one… and every time, she proves me wrong. Our Perfect Storm completely broke my heart and then put it back together in the most Carley Fortune way.

This story feels like longing, nostalgia, and trying to find yourself while finding your place in the world.

Frankie and George… the history between them is everything. Childhood friends to something so much deeper and so much more complicated.

They know each other too well. That kind of connection is powerful, but it can also hurt you in ways no one else ever could.

This isn’t just a romance it’s about belonging, identity, and what it means to truly be seen.

Sometimes it takes something devastating to make you see what was meant for you ✨ taken in Bookstagram by @booksononepage

✨ Thank you to @bookbreakuk @panmacmillan for gifting me an ARC copy of this book it was one of my most anticipated reads of the year as I really loved Beautiful Ugly and WOW!!! it did not disappoint.

My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney completely pulled me out of a reading slump. Dark, twisty, psychological and impossible to put down. This was everything I wanted and more from a psychological thriller.

“Your biggest enemy is always the person you see in the mirror.”

🖤 Synopsis:
Eden Fox, an artist on the brink of her big break, goes out for a run before her first exhibition. But when she returns to Spyglass the enchanting old house in the seaside village of Hope Falls she’s recently moved to nothing is as it should be.
Her key doesn’t fit.
A woman who looks eerily like her answers the door.
And her husband insists the stranger is his wife.

🌀 My thoughts:
I read this in one day, genuinely could not put it down. The short chapters made it easy to keep going, and I was completely immersed from start to finish. It honestly felt like I was living in Hope Falls, trying to piece everything together alongside the characters.

I thought I had it all figured out, turns out I didn’t completely wrong 😅 The twists just kept coming. The atmosphere was tense and eerie, and the psychological mind games had me questioning everything.

🤍 One thing I do feel is important to mention: I personally think this book should come with a trigger warning. Some parts hit very close to home for me and were emotionally heavy in places.

🖤 If you love dark psychological thrillers and stories that you want to just figure it all out yourself and stay there this one will absolutely grip you. taken in Bookstagram by @booksononepage
