🎵Don’t Ask Me to Stay🎵

This is my original song submission for the movie It Ends With Us. A lot of you know that It Ends With Us is quite special to me because it hit close to home. I am so thankful that my mom chose to walk away from a toxic marriage when she did. My mom sacrificed so much for me and my brother. I held a lot of resentment for some of the choices she made, but now that I’m older, I finally understand that everything she did was because of her love for us. She’s strong, brave, and independent. My mom is my hero and the inspiration behind this song. Even if my song isn’t picked for the movie, I’m thankful it allowed me to revisit my childhood and process my emotions. Plus, I’m writing again, which makes me happy.

Shoutout to my friend @tayyyloe for helping me with the lyrics, @sar_beara for playing guitar, and my husband @jared.storz for playing cello! And thank you to those who listened and gave me feedback (you know who you are) 💛

✨Meet the Bookstagrammer✨

Hi friends! There are some new faces around here and I haven’t done this in a while, so I thought I’d introduce myself. Thank you all for following my reading journey! I hope you stick around. 💛

✨I’m Natalie (or Nat), I’m 27 years old and I live in Southern California with my cinnamon roll husband Jared and golden retriever Aspen.

✨I’m a Leo (Aug. 10th), Enneagram 4, and an INFP.

✨I was born and raised in Hong Kong. I came to the U.S. for college when I was 18, but I don’t have an accent since I went to an American school growing up.

✨Jared and I met in college and we got married 3 times. Don’t fret, you’re all invited to our fourth wedding.

✨I joined Bookstagram on June 11, 2022. I started reading for fun when the pandemic hit. I was seeing a lot of book reviews and content on my personal IG feed, but it was my college roommate that encouraged me to make my very own bookstagram!

✨I vaguely remember being a bookworm growing up (I did binge read the Twilight series), but according to my mom, I always begged her to buy books from the Scholastic book orders at school, and I would sit in a bookstore and read all day!

✨I have my bachelors and masters in music, but I currently work in higher education as an academic records specialist and I’m actually really enjoying it!

✨My love language is physical touch. I feel loved when I get a tight hug, if we link arms while we walk, or when you put your head on my shoulder. I feel like my love language is shifting towards quality time though!

✨I mainly love to read romance and fantasy/romantasy.

✨I once flew 15 hours straight without going to the bathroom. I hate peeing on the plane. I don’t know why lol.

✨Sometimes I get anxious going places by myself.

✨I was a rebellious kid lol. I have so many stories.

✨I love boba milk tea. The end.

✨Books I always recommend: Divine Rivals, Fourth Wing, It Ends With Us, Part of Your World, Better than the Movies, The Nightingale, ACOTAR series, and The Selection series.

✨Book tropes I love: second chance romance, childhood friends to lovers, age gap, found family, and enemies to lovers.

Aspen meeting her baby brother for the first time! We let her sniff Nolan’s hospital swaddle before introducing them, and she could definitely tell something was up. Now they’re inseparable! We’ve been dreaming of this day 🥹🩵🐾

Introducing our newest reader 🩵📚

Nolan Jeffrey was born on September 27, 2026, at 6:49 AM, weighing 6 lbs 15.5 oz and measuring 18.7 inches long.

Our hearts are exploding. He has the sweetest smile and gives the best snuggles. I didn’t know I could love someone this much. 🥹

These past two weeks have been pretty chaotic and emotional, and I’m taking things day by day. I probably won’t be as active on here as I focus on recovering and settling into our new routine. For now, we’re soaking in every second with our sweet boy. 🩵

July Wrap Up 📖🎆🌴

Yes, I’m two months late, but better late than never. 🤪 July was a great month! It was the start of my third trimester, and I still had lots of energy to do all the fun summer things!

📚Books I read:
• Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune — 4⭐️
• Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban — 5⭐️

📺 What I watched:
• The Sheep Detectives — This was such a fun family murder mystery! Lots of humor, but it also made me cry a few times!

• Love Island UK Season 13 — This was my first time watching Love Island, and I was hooked. So messy, but I couldn’t stop watching lol.

• Maternal Instinct — This was so disturbing. I was physically sick to my stomach. Watching this while pregnant was probably not a good idea. 😅

• The Odyssey — I loved it!! A cinematic masterpiece for sure.

✨ Recent obsessions:
• Making my own lattes at home
• NutriPaw’s Pre, Pro & Post-Biotic Treats for Dogs @nutri_paw
• Warm baths and a good book (and wishing orange juice was wine instead)
• Puppy closet dividers for the nursery

📸 July highlights:
• Sadie’s first 4th of July 🇺🇸
• I was homesick, so Jared took us to Hong Kong Cafe for lunch, and it was delicious! 🤤
• Lots of pool time ☀️🌴
• Jared started painting the nursery 🎨
• Went to 3 baby showers 🍼
• Hello, third trimester!! ⏳

Happy Thursday, friends! I thought I’d get so much content and posting done during maternity leave, but I haven’t been sleeping well because of third trimester hip pain, so I have done…none of that. 😅 My energy has been running low, but hopefully I’ll get back into posting when baby is here (doubt it lol).

📚 Reading: I started If It Makes You Happy and I’m loving it so far!

🎧 Listening: I’m almost done with This Is Me: A Reckoning by Hayden Panettiere, and I’m thinking of starting Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire or continuing Dungeon Crawler Carl.

📺 Watching: Jared and I are now on season 4 of The Walking Dead. I also started Scandal yesterday while cleaning, and I am hooked!

💛 Loving: The nursery is done and I’m obsessed with it!! I can’t wait to show you all what it looks like. 😍 I’m hoping to add some seasonal books and decor throughout the year too!

🤸‍♀️ Doing: I’ve been craving Din Tai Fung lately, so we’re getting that for dinner, which will probably be our last date night before baby is here. 🥹 I still need to make thank-you gift baskets for our labor and delivery nurses, put together my nursing cart, and deep clean. Other than that, we’re just waiting for baby to arrive, which could be any day now… CRAZY.

🙏🏻 Grateful for: Friends and family who have checked in on us… sometimes they seem to be more excited about baby’s arrival than us. 😆
