Just finished That Time I Got Drink and Saved a Demon by @kimberlylemming , and wow, what a wild ride!

January’s reading lineup was an adventure! It started strong with my first five-star read of the year—The Grace Year! 🎉 I was blown away by the incredible plot twist in “Pen Pal” and definitely found a new book boyfriend in “A Kingdom of Stars and Shadows.” What a fantastic way to kick off the year!

**Book Review: Pen Pal**

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 🌶️🌶️🌶️

If you’ve ever tried untangling a ball of yarn, you’ll feel right at home with J.T. Geissinger’s *Pen Pal*. The plot starts off like a game of Twister—left foot on “What’s happening?” and right hand on “Wait, who’s that again?” But don’t worry; just when you think you’re hopelessly lost, the magnetic chemistry between Kayla and Aiden pulls you right back in.

Let’s talk about Aiden’s audacious proclamation: “my plan is to get you naked and find out how you sound when you come.” Well, if that doesn’t get your heart racing and your cheeks flushing, I don’t know what will! He’s the kind of guy who’s all sweetness and charm in public but reveals his inner alpha when the doors are closed, and let me tell you, it’s a thrilling ride.

Now, about that nickname “bunny.” I mean, really? It is—cute but not quite the fierce vibe I was hoping for.

As for the plot twists, I found myself concocting wild theories—each one more outlandish than the last. Spoiler alert: I was utterly off-base, but the ending served up a delightful surprise that left me speechless (and slightly hungry for more).

Overall, *Pen Pal* is a mix of humor, heat, and unexpected turns that kept me entertained from start to finish. Just remember to keep your theories wild and your expectations high—this book is a rollercoaster you won’t want to miss!

Grab your tissues and settle in for “The Grace Year” by Kim Liggett, this book had me in whirlwind of emotions. I was hooked from page one! It’s been a while since a book made me feel so much—anger, sadness, anxiety—you name it, I felt it. I devoured it in a single day, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

We follow Tierney, a fearless leading lady, who is navigating a brutal rite of passage in a society that’s all about control. Her journey is a powerful tale of resilience and empowerment, highlighting the struggles and victories of her and her fellow women.

While I adored both male characters, Michael truly stole my heart. “I will always love you. I only hope that in time you will grow to love me, too.” Seriously, can we just take a moment? He’s is everything!

The story kept me on the edge of my seat, pulling at my heartstrings and bringing me to tears!

This poignant tale beautifully explores friendship and the indomitable spirit of women. It will forever hold a special place in my heart, reminding me of the incredible power of solidarity and courage.
