My reading taste jumps from mystery thrillers to cozy romance, fantasy, retellings and books that completely destroy whatever theory I thought I had.

I’m a very easy reader to please when it comes to thrillers: just make me question everyone.

I love mystery books with clever twists, unreliable characters and plots that keep me guessing until the end. If I can work out the ending from chapter three, I’m going to be slightly disappointed. 😂

Give me a thriller that makes me think I’ve figured it out… and then proves me completely wrong.

For all my love of murder mysteries and dark stories, I apparently also have a very strong cozy romance side.

Give me small-town vibes, chemistry, lovable characters and a setting that makes me want to curl up with a warm drink, and I’m happy.

Sometimes I don’t need a plot twist.

Sometimes I just need romance and comfort. 🤍

My fantasy taste apparently comes with one requirement:

Make it a little weird.

I love fantasy books that feel magical, imaginative and different from everything else I’ve been reading. I don’t necessarily need endless world-building — give me an unusual premise, a little adventure and some unexpected magic.

Bonus points if I finish the book thinking, “Well… I’ve never read anything quite like that before.”

Turns out a week of reading doesn’t always mean finishing a whole stack of books. 😂📚

16 Books Before 2027 | Reading Challenge Update

Three books finished, one new read started, and a very motivating reward waiting at the finish line.

My 2026 reading challenge is officially underway! I’m trying to finish 16 books from my TBR cart before the end of the year, and here’s where I’m at so far.

📖 Books I’ve finished:
🔍 The Housemaid by Freida McFadden
🍄 Nine Goblins by T. Kingfisher
✨ Het Land van Verloren Verhalen by Ina de Man

Currently reading: The 100: Rebellion by Kass Morgan.

That’s 3/16 books completed and 13 still to go! I’m hoping this reading challenge will finally get some of those unread books off my TBR shelf. And knowing there’s a reward from my boyfriend at the end? Let’s just say I’ve got extra motivation. 😂🤍

A little autumn exploring, a visit to the Anne Frank House, and of course… a bookshop souvenir. 🍂📚

My British friend is staying with me for autumn break, and visiting the Anne Frank House was one of the things we wanted to do while he’s here. It was a meaningful visit, and naturally, I couldn’t leave the souvenir shop empty-handed. Because apparently, my idea of a souvenir is always another book. 🤎

I came home with When We Flew Away by Alice Hoffman, a novel imagining Anne Frank’s life before the diary. I’m curious to see how this story unfolds, especially after visiting the place connected to her life.

Rich students, secret accounts and enough drama to make you grateful you’re no longer at school…

Let Them Eat Likes by @bypatidlg Patid served up elite school politics, exposed secrets and a whole lot of intrigue. The anonymous social media account? The perfect recipe for chaos. And naturally, I needed to know what would happen next. 📖

This was also my first author-requested ARC, so I’m extra happy I said yes. And with a 5/5 star rating, let’s just say my TBR is very grateful for this discovery. 🌿

If you love YA dark academia, messy school drama, hidden secrets and characters who clearly missed the memo about minding their own business, add this one to your TBR!

A magical library, familiar faces, and a little nostalgia… but did this story live up to its potential? 🌿✨

I picked up Het land van verloren verhalen by Ina de Man because the premise sounded wonderful: a girl who hates books, an enormous library, and a world where every book has a life of its own. Tell me that doesn’t sound like a bookworm’s dream!

And honestly? The literary references were EVERYTHING. Spotting familiar faces from Narnia, Harry Potter, Charlotte’s Web and so many other beloved stories made me smile throughout the book. There’s something so lovely about seeing different fictional worlds come together in one place.

I also enjoyed Emma’s journey and the nostalgic connection between books, memories and the people who share stories with us. 🤍

But… I did wish the story had slowed down a little. I wanted more time to explore Pergamont, get to know its characters and see the main conflict develop. The ending felt rushed, and I wasn’t entirely convinced by how everything was resolved.

Still, I had a happy reading experience! It was cosy, imaginative and full of little details that made me smile. Would I reread it? Probably, especially if I ever have children I’d love to share it with. 🥹

16 books. One deadline. One very motivating reward.

So, I may have come up with a little reading challenge for myself…

I’ve got a cart filled with 16 unread books, and I’ve decided that I want to finish every single one of them before the end of 2026.

And the best part? If I manage to do it, my boyfriend is buying me a gift. 🎁

Will this motivate me to finally read those books that have been sitting on my TBR for far too long? Or will I end up adding even more books to the cart before I finish these? 😂

Only time will tell.

I went from reading one book at a time to juggling two ebooks, a physical book AND an audiobook. Because apparently, one storyline isn’t enough.

Depending on my mood, I might be reading a mystery thriller on my Kobo, enjoying a physical fantasy book on the couch or listening to an audiobook while doing something else.

The TBR is growing, the reading moods are unpredictable, and somehow I still want to start another book.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who reads multiple books at once!

If you ask me for a thriller recommendation, there’s a very good chance Steve Cavanagh will enter the conversation. 😂

The Eddie Flynn series is my ALL-TIME favourite, and I will happily recommend it whenever I get the chance.

I love a clever legal thriller, an unpredictable mystery, and a plot twist that makes me rethink everything I thought I knew.

And if I had to recommend one book to get you started? Fifty-Fifty by Steve Cavanagh. Add it to your mystery thriller TBR!

I physically cannot put a book down halfway through a chapter. It doesn’t matter if I have something else to do. My brain has decided that the chapter MUST be finished before I can move on.
