1. Take your time. Listen to your instructors, read your textbook, and watch barbering content. Don’t make any excuses, the accessibility to information is everywhere today.

2. Treat everyone in the chair like a real client. Yes you are in school so the expectations are low. However, you’re in a service industry so you have to build good habits early. Plus, who knows, some of those guys can be converted to real clients when you’re out of school.

3. Dress like you didn’t just roll out of bed. In this industry, first impressions are everything. These habits start early, so you might as well start in school. I wouldn’t want to book with a barber who looks like he doesn’t take care of his self. Good habits have to start somewhere.
