This post is to highlight Suicide prevention awareness month & CPTSD. Trigger Warning ahead on themes and discussion of Suicide. Proceed with care! 💜🩵 Vulnerability moment: Mental health is very important to me, not just as someone who works in the field, but in my own lived experiences. I am a CPTSD survivor, and everyday is different. I wont share explicit details, just know it’s been a journey in healing. Suicide is a topic that I am willing to have. It’s necessary and something I’m continuing to educate myself on. Part of my care is to incorporate and cultivate understanding of how this can present. Prevention is the bread of it and there is a lot that needs to be addressed systematically. So much gets masked daily, and a huge amount of stigma and misinformation that gets spread, so I’m hopeful with this post I can bring more awareness. Keep doing the best that you can, learn ways to regulate & co-regulate, take the medication if needed, go to therapy (if that is an option), reach out for a resource, find something to look forward to, READ all the books.✨When I make a post like this, I always feel like I forgot to include something, so if you have any resources or book recommendations, please share in the comments. This post will have many resources and infographics, I’ve tagged almost everyone I could. ‼️Please note this post is for informational purposes and does not constitute or substitute for medical or clinical advice, consultation, diagnosis, intervention, or treatment from a licensed health care professional. ‼️ Here are some books I’ve read or that are on my TBR, that I feel have important discussions on one’s lived experience. Part of suicide prevention is in these works, so in no particular order here are themes & discussions highlighted: -Suicidal ideation, plans, means, and intent -Transphobia & Parental Abandonment -Addiction -Miscarriage -Going to therapy -SA -Immigration experience -Racism -Bipolar II -Death -Loss of a loved one/ Grief -Gender identity and expression Read with care. Also, I have more book recommendations if you all want them. Message me. ✨ An infographic on warning signs, Not an exhaustive list. Some by @bookworm_dre
Today is my bookstaversary, celebrating 2️⃣ years! I’ve combined both my passions together and in this post I’ve asked my booksties for MH recommendations & I’ve included resources. 🧠 💚 Mental Health Awareness is so much more beyond the surface and one of the slides I’ve included details this wonderfully. ✨ I’m grateful to have my community here on bookstagram and even more floored by how much love y’all share. It blows my mind how much effort you all put into your creative space daily. 💚 As a mental health professional it’s absolutely important for me to acknowledge my fellow helpers, lovers, and those treating with care, I’m so very grateful to you. WE ARE RECOGNIZED and have a very professional degree. Also, in a day and age where social media influencers who are giving MH “advice,” please I caution, know that misinformation exists all the time and can lead to further harmful stereotypes and stigma. ✨ As someone who goes to therapy, to those going or trying to, I see you and I hear you. It’s not always easy to show up in spaces baring your soul, I admire you. Healing happens within community and of course within, so keep going as best as you can. Whether you’re taking medication, talking it out, finding moments of joy, reading and reading a lot, using resources, volunteering, reading about MH, writing about MH, listening to podcasts, researching, advocating!, you are doing it. 💚 Are there any book recommendations you want to add? I know this is not an exhaustive list so the more the better. *All artist tagged and please check my bio for additional resources. This post is just for informational purposes and to bring awareness to a matter that is important. If I misspelled anything 🫣 oops! #mentalhealthbookrecommendations #mentalhealthbooks #readersofinstagram #bookreccomendations #bookstaversary by @bookworm_dre
#MeltIceStack 🗣️ Abolish Ice🧊 ‼️‼️ BOOK COMMUNITY, Please take a moment to look into this initiative being hosted by @readerbotdiaries and consider participating. Thank you to all who are contributing and matching donations. 🙏🏼 🔥 I’ve also included several resources and some additional encouragement because I know we could all use it. You’re amazing and keep showing up in the best way you know how. If you’re out showing your support on the streets today stay vigilant and if you’re showing up online keep going (changes happen in our everyday action & conversations). Take care of your nervous system, keep protecting your heart (cuídese), and don’t let anyone dim your spark❤️‍🔥🫂 Also, screaming, crying, and movement are great ways to release carthasis. Name it for what it is, we got this! ✨ *Additonal resources are linked in my bio. by @bookworm_dre

Day 9: Latine Author Spotlight, Most read author this year! ♾️✨🥰 One of the best things I did this year was pick up the San Jose Coyote Series. I’ve had so much fun reading Izzy’s books. 🖤 Izzy is a Mexican American Author who writes unapologetically and wonderful Latine Representation, focusing on language, tradition, authentic experiences, and so much more. She also prioritizes writing Queer love, tender and emotional scenes, complex family dynamics, flawed characters, and lots of growth & healing. Oh and Izzy writes Spanish Dirty Talk so good…oh my my 🫦🔥 #readdiversebooks #readingdiversely #readlatineallyear #latinaauthor As we are nearing the end of LHM and the #lhmbookstachallenge2026 this is a reminder to continue to read Latine all year. Read diversely all year. Follow creators who prioritize and amplify diverse authors and reads all year. Big big hugs y besos 🥰 by @bookworm_dre

I’m very proud! Also, I had 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reads. Total read: 1️⃣4️⃣ Look at all those ARCs, 3/4 read. ✅ May October treat you all well and that you allow softness in. ♥️ Here are some of my favorite things, went to see Practical Magic with my mama, attended my first football game, volunteered with Aurora, went to a book signing, twilight, and participated in a suicide prevention activity at work. ✨ This ‼️‼️ Here to share a resource or two. Share and save if you need these. Take care of your hearts and feel all that you feel, I know I am.❣️ Q: What’s a reminder you feel like you need more of? I need to remember to hydrate and take it one thing at a time. ✨ Another resource🫡 by @bookworm_dre
