If Not Me is coming back! In light of the loveliness that came from the Camden Fringe run, we’ve decided to bring the show back for one more night. 7th September, 7:30pm, @thehenandchickenstheatre. This really will be the last performance for a while (no backsies), so don’t snooze and lose 🛁

#Interview: The Calm Before the Spiral 🎭💭

How does a casual chat quietly morph into a chilling story of obsession and fantasy?

We sat down with writer-performer @boolsjackson and director @jamesrwren to go inside their @theCamdenFringe hit If Not Me, a show born out of Unrestricted View’s Hatchery development programme).

✨ Turning a single throwaway monologue into a full, slow-burn psychological journey.
✨ The power of a minimalist set, how a single stool and subtle shifts in lighting build intense intimacy.
✨ How quiet, everyday loneliness can cause someone to rewrite their own reality.

Read the full interview on our website, link in bio, or see first comment.

If Not Me returns to @thehenandchickenstheatre on Monday 7 September.

A huge, huge thank you to @portobello_film_festival for Officially Selecting SELF+TAPE at their fantastic art and film festival!

SELF+TAPE will be screening at @muse_at_269 Art Gallery, Wednesday 9th September between 6pm-10:30pm. As with the last 31 years, entry is completely free, which is fantastic. Thank you for having us! 🫶

A very special thanks goes out to fellow filmmaker Gavin Irvine for introducing and submitting our comedy on our behalf. You can also catch Gav’s comedy “Peace & Quiet” on Saturday 5th September at the same venue during the same slot! Synopsis: “Much to his dismay, an ex-prison officer takes a break from his local park after an embarrassing accident.” Cheers Gav and hope everyone enjoys the festival! 🙏

So unbelievably excited (and a little overwhelmed) to finally be able to tell you that If Not Me has been published 🥹

The endlessly brilliant team at Unrestricted View have just opened a publishing house, and If Not Me has been chosen as one of their first publications.

If you’d like a copy of the published play, there’s a link in my bio. If you’d like to stage a production of If Not Me, please contact james@unrestrictedview.co.uk.

Ahhhh!! 🛁💜
