This Friday, we kick off the ITSAHOUSE summer season at our new home FOR FREE, Batanga, with the launch of THE BLUEPRINT series 😮‍💨

A new chapter built around community, culture and quality house music.

Mike Glass, ITSAHOUSE resident, opens the night, followed by Fu Dog, our newest resident, bringing his own fresh sounds to the dancefloor.

Guest Boon takes over next, bringing years of experience in scene and a deep connection to South Africa’s house music culture.

Closing the night, Gheko x Thamiache go back-to-back, bringing a fusion of Afro-house and Afro-tech to the dancefloor. First time for everything 👀

10 years behind the decks. 30 years of life. One moment to give it all back.

From the dancefloors that raised me to the stages that gave me a voice - from Rocking the Daisies to playing Altitude and WeHouse Sundays, from curating experiences like Lemkus 90 to the rooms, parties and late nights that shaped the sound of BOON.

Every set, every venue, every artist, every promoter, every collaboration, every photographer, every dancer and every friend has played a part in the journey.

From playing alongside communities that inspired me, to collaborating with them and helping create experiences of my own - every chapter has brought me closer to the selector and person I am today.

So this one is different.

On 31 October, I step into Colorbox Studios not just to play a set, but to celebrate everyone who helped make BOON who he is.

A dedication to the dancefloors.
A dedication to the selectors.
A dedication to the artists.
A dedication to the promoters.
A dedication to the community.

This is my thank you.

Some people build events. Others build a home for the culture.

Lawrence is one of those people.

From We House Sundays and Rooftop of Dreams to building Colorbox Studios alongside Lisa, his influence on Cape Town’s house music community runs deep.

Colorbox has become a space where the music, the people and the culture can come together - and for me, it’s played a meaningful part in shaping the journey.

Now, I get to invite Lawrence to rock with me in the very home he helped create.

Some names are part of the story.

Emlyn Williams is one of them.

I remember the influence of One Foot In The Groove and the role Emlyn has played in shaping and carrying Cape Town’s house music culture forward.

Deeply rooted in the scene, deeply connected to the music, and someone whose contribution goes far beyond a single dancefloor.

So it felt only right to invite him to rock with me.
