The goal at the end of my trip was to get a Tattoo from Apo Whang-OD the oldest tattoo artist in the word!(109 years) BUT when I called up Jane from the travel agency, she let me know that the village wasn’t allowing any visitors due to the tribe having a conflict with previous visitors. She then got in contact with someone from the village and said we could go but we would be going at our own risk due to the circumstances going on. The trek to the village from Manila is about 12/14 hours each way and I HAD to dedicate two days up there due to other visitors coming and not being able to get tattooed due to Apo’s age and her having to stop tattooing. LUCKILY we made it up there and I was able to meet and get tattooed by this LEGEND!!! Not to mention the trek up the mountain and getting across to the village from the tram hahaha. I try to get a new tattoo on each of my travels and I NOW have a piece of history to come back home to. SALAMAT PO TO APO WHANG-OD and the village of Buscalan! I also got to meet another legend while I was there. The beautiful oldest person in the village at 119 years old. She reminded me of my great grandmother on my mom’s side, Happy as can be! Special shout out to Jane and Darwin (the beast) for coming with me to the mountains and making this trip the icing on my bday cake! A little taste of the Philippines. One of the goals I had in mind was to try something new with each meal and I def hit that goal. Eating Balut was not for me but I tried it at least haha. From the street food to eating in different Provinces, EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING was SARAP!! I am beyond Thankful and Grateful to make it to another year of life!! Celebrating in another country and manifesting this is fuckin surreal to me considering what has happened in a years time. Because I’m 15 hours ahead, (it’s about 5am sept19th here) I celebrated my bday yesterday starting off with flying into Bohol from Manila with breakfast on the river, joined the ladies and danced with them to Tinikling til my pants fell off (literally 🤣), Then went Zip lining, Checked out some cool ass Tarsiers that were hella tiny, then went on some ATV’s (in some flip flops) with my driver (Breix) because he said he never done it before and then checked out Chocolate hills. Breix surprised me with a Birthday cake before dropping me off at my hotel and then I had dinner on a white sand beach outside my room and watched a fire dance and then got a massage. Round 2 today because NOW I’m going to celebrate “My American” Birthday and continue to LIVE IT UP! Sooooo THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for ALL OF THE LOVE AND BIRTHDAY WISHES!
