My first ever shirt mini purchase ever (@maxstudio_uk ) is a success story which had at least 4 girls wild over my outfit. I think it's time to invest in a long shirtdress collection. I like how this long shirt and boots combo shows off my glute and hamstring muscles from 13 years of long distance running/walking, gym, and construction. This one is faux so my next one will be a real leather long shirt in the future. These ray ban meta 2 glasses were fun while they lasted since I am going to return for better glasses because the ray bans won't let me live stream on my Instagram. I dont feel like fixing it either so the next pair of glasses are $600 and can live stream on twitch.

The Great Male Renunciation is a 1930s theory by psychologist John Flügel, describing a late 18th-century shift where Western men abandoned bright, ornate, and luxurious clothing for sober, functional, dark suits. It marked a transition from displaying wealth via fabric to emphasizing tailored fit, leaving fashionability to women.

Definition: Coined by John Flügel, it describes men "abandoning their claim to be considered beautiful" and instead aiming to be "only useful".

Timeframe & Context: Occurred around the French Revolution (late 18th to early 19th century).

Key Changes: Abandonment of bright colors, embroidery, high heels, silk, and wigs, replaced by darker, more subdued, and tailored garments.

Drivers: Driven by the rise of industrial capitalism, a need for practical work attire for the bourgeoisie, and a rejection of aristocratic excess.

Legacy: Established the modern, uniform, and modest nature of men's business fashion.

What was lost?
Before this period, men’s fashion was highly ornate, similar to women's in the modern era. The Renunciation moved fashion to a "frivolous" realm for women, while men became associated with sobriety and utility.
