I am extremely happy to finally share @futuredays.radio —a new music label and station housed inside @futuredays.shop

After my band @kikagaku.moyo went on hiatus, my partner @eloiseptito and I dreamed of bringing art and music culture together into one big project: Future Days Shop.

Future Days Radio is the final piece of that puzzle.

In Japanese, the word for music is Ongaku. "On" meaning sound, and "Gaku" meaning joy. Sounds only become music when they are fun.

Since I was a little kid, this idea has always been in my mind, and radio or music rooms usually look way too much like boring office spaces or everything looks the same everywhere. I wanted to build the ultimate music room with vibrant, colorful energy and a feeling of time-tripping.

Right when I was brainstorming this new chapter, I discovered Rio Kobayashi’s work through his speaker design. Great artwork always brings great friendships. We met in London, hit it off instantly, and set out to create the most vibrant music room possible for the future.
It took a few years of planning and deep passion. When this room finally came to life, I literally couldn't move for a long time, just sitting inside and taking it all in.

Huge thanks to @onni.aho for the intensive architectural design and building, and to @takuma.yamamura1090 and @makotoyokota for building the strong foundation to support it. I've seen how complicated and difficult it was to build this room.

Rio turned my chaotic mind-universe into reality with incredible detail and a humorous touch—because "Quality x Humour" is the ultimate combination and equation.

A decade of touring taught me deeply that music sounds different depending on the environment, and it changes how artists play. This space travel/fun-and-joy design makes playing music feel truly special.

Moving forward, we are planning to host mixes, live performances, talks, and DJ sets here. This is a brand new departure for my music universe: a radio station, live space, and label all inside our shop.

Thank you, @riokobayashi_d , I can't wait to keep visualizing our imaginations with music, art, and your craftsmanship ❤️

FUTURE DAYS RADIO⚡️ × ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST⚡️

We’re delighted to share that our latest project for Future Days Radio in Amsterdam is now featured in AD magazine’s October issue, out today on newsstands.

For a room tucked away within Future Days Shop, founded by musician Tomo Katsurada @bootlegbunny and embroidery artist Eloïse Ptito @eloiseptito , we designed a tram-like space, incorporating hand-painted acrylic shapes with marquetry motifs like fruit and fish that reflect the history of the building and its narrow interior, realized in cherry, walnut and oak. Production and fabrication were managed by Onni Aho, with a team based in Helsinki including Liitos.

Future Days Radio will be hosting webcasts and filmed live sessions. Follow them to see their programming: @futuredays.radio @futuredays.shop

A big thank you to Architectural Digest for featuring the project in its latest issue.

⭐️ We are more than thrilled to announce Tomo KATSURADA and Johnny NASH’s live performance as part of the CAMERA JAPAN 2026 programme! After their critically acclaimed collaboration At the Emerald Pool, KATSURADA (@bootlegbunny) and NASH (@melodyastruth) promise an intimate spellbinding evening. To celebrate, we interviewed the musicians and talked about improvisation, musical storytelling, and, of course, film!

[INTERVIEW PREVIEW]

● As a starter, could you tell us how the two of you met and how your collaboration started?

Jonny - We met quite a few years ago in Amsterdam as mutual fans of each other’s music. Our collaboration began in 2024, when I worked with Tomo on his first solo EP, Dream Of The Egg.

● What role does improvisation play in your creative process?

Tomo - It's pure self-expression through music for me. Magic happens when it communicates with others.

J - Improvisation sits at the heart of my creative process. Much of my work comes from capturing moments of improvisation and building on them.

● You are from Japan and Scotland respectively. What made you decide to move to the Netherlands and choose Amsterdam as your new home base?

T - I moved here because of my previous band, Kikagaku Moyo. I wanted to tour more in Europe and the US, and it's much easier to do that from here than from a somewhat isolated Japan. I was also already in contact with people from Rush Hour, Festivals, and booking agents etc in the Netherlands, so I was lucky to be welcomed the way I was.

J - I was working more and more with labels and artists based in the Netherlands. When I moved here in 2017, Amsterdam was a very creative place, with a good scene around the kind of music I was making. Its location also makes it a great base for an artist travelling to play concerts across Europe.

It was a big honor for me to curate the music and DJ for the opening of Yayoi Kusama’s retrospective at @stedelijkmuseum ✴️

Kusama's art and life story have been a huge inspiration to me. Leading up to the opening, I spent time researching her favorite music and learned so much about her wild connection to Amsterdam since the '60s.

This is the last exhibition that she has personally been involved in, making it a very special one. It’s energetic, powerful, and deeply human.

If you want to be empowered by the history of art that one person has pursued her whole life in such a unique way, I highly recommend checking it out! It's full of energy!

Rest in peace Yayoi Kusama
