I'm reposting some of my photos from #hiroshimamemorialpark I took a few months back because today is the 81st year since the atomic bombing in #hiroshima. Despite all the noise around me, I had an immense sensation of silence and sorrow. I felt grateful that I was allowed to enter this space as an Australian tourist. Even though I felt deeply emotional, it was an important feeling to sit with. To anyone who thinks atomic weapons are the answer -- my only response is why? Please think again. I encourage everyone to have a minute silence at 8:15AM local Japanese time (9:15AM here in Brisbane).

A little kit I made simply to relive my moments exploring the area near @kyoto_kokeshi_house and @retro_porcelain_museum a little over a month ago. The little dolls, fans, plants and cosy vibes just took me right back there. Apologies for the shaky camera work 🤣

A quick birthday card I made today for my mum's work colleague. I used some of my flower stickers by @_katepaints that I had and a little cat by @cherririi along with some Sakura stickers, some kitty origami paper that I think I got from Daiso and random leaf stickers and other leaf stickers. I also participated in playing the role of the "tsuke", the guy who is responsible for punctuating movements and adding sound effects with a wooden block set. It was great to see that before going to a Shin Kabuki of Lupin III.

The trip was full of moments I hope to return to in my memory bank whenever things get too tough. I hope I can return one day but if not, I'm very glad I got to experience what I did.

Travels to a pigeon shrine in #kyoto before heading back for our last hurrah in #tokyo🗼 . I went to an amazing kabuki seminar with my older sibling. It was a great experience. by @bootnabber

@nishimura_gelato_factory opening up after renovations (I think) during our stay was also an amazing stroke of luck. They were lovely and I'm very much looking forward to sharing my pot of matcha with my travelling companions in the near future. The railway museum was also really, really fun. So many amazing replicas and displays. #kyoto #japantravel by @bootnabber

I much preferred being out in the areas further away from the city spending in #kyoto -- especially around @retro_porcelain_museum and @kyoto_kokeshi_house. Those places were definitely highlights. #japantravel by @bootnabber

Kochi and some photos from #hiroshima . The memorial park was very moving. Somehow there was an overwhelming silence even with the hustle and bustle of various tourists around. If I ever return, I'll head there early so I can spend longer processing those feelings. #kochi #japantravel by @bootnabber
