A look behind the scenes at a rig build I’ve just finished for @neckdeepuk

Built around @fretronics / @konvikt.kustoms RSW, @neuraldsp Quad Cortex Minis, @radialeng JX42 and @shure ULXD4D wireless with all the rack wiring, looms and integration built in-house.

A lot of hours and a lot of cable

Really pleased with how these came together. #neckdeep #guitartech #rigbuild #touring #backline by @bootsisawstr

A small problem that’s annoyed me for years…

I’ve never liked putting two sets of cables into the back of a single @neutrikemea PowerCON connector. It’s fiddly to terminate, there’s a lot going on in a small space, and it makes servicing or changing anything later a pain.

I designed and 3D printed these little power distribution boxes. one PowerCON in, one PowerCON out, with two additional cables feeding internal devices and power supplies within the rack, all distributed using @wagouk connectors.

Everything is easily accessible and serviceable, with no more trying to cram multiple cables into the back of a PowerCON.

A small detail, but a much neater solution.

If anyone could make use of one of these in their own builds, let me know!

New rigs I built for @neckdeepuk. 6 @neuraldsp Quad Cortex minis and 3 @fretronics @konvikt.kustoms RSWs at the center of it all! Let me know if you’d like to see more more footage of them being built 🤘 by @bootsisawstr

Don’t be scared to adjust your guitar’s truss rod! It’s easy. Just make sure you’ve got the right size key, always loosten 1st and give it a go. Hopefully this helps some of you who are a little hesitant to try it yourself! Any questions, let me know!🤘 #guitartech #trussrod #guitarrepair by @bootsisawstr

Refret and new handmade bone nut on this Eccleshall Semitar. Another weird and wonderful instrument @meccleshall trusted me to restore. Learning a lot on these instruments as they are all handmade and you run in to little hurdles you don’t normally see with factory made guitars. This one had a a twist in the neck that heat didn’t fix so I had to sand it out. The Proper relief gauge came in very handy when levelling the board. Also 1st time I’ve cut a nut using @guitarspecialistinc Math instead of using a spacing rule. Made me feel really clever for a few minutes. by @bootsisawstr

What’s an absolute pleasure to be reunited with my brothers in @statechampsny for @slamdunkmusic. Our 1st gig together was 10 years ago and it’s always a great time working for them. Amazing band and people ❤️ 📷 @elliottxingham by @bootsisawstr

Had a great time looking after SR for @thenbhd. Amazing band and an all star crew. Everyone at the top of their game and a pleasure to be around. Thanks to @yopattycakess for asking me to cover him. Also went to Türkiye for the 1st time to see a lot of cats and eat a lot of kebabs. by @bootsisawstr

Now I’ve got the ‘official’ post out the way. Time to appreciate the fact I get to travel the world with friends! Most tours are fun but had an extra good time on this one. I had some amazing times with old with old friends and new! It’s very easy to forget sometimes that this is literally a dream job for so many people and I’m very lucky to be able to do this with so many awesome people. Love you all❤️ by @bootsisawstr
