Who else is in my boat? 🤷‍♀️ #boymom #motherhood #bootsofahitchhiker by @bootsofahitchhiker

Traveled the world for 3 years full time before becoming a mom, and it couldn’t have been better. Knowing what the world looks like gives me more acceptance and grace in the way I approach motherhood, and its been a fresh perspective every day.

What are some of your life experiences that have helped you in motherhood? I’d love to hear! ❤️

Some of the most beautiful gems of travel are the ones that carry centuries of stories. From ancient monuments and forgotten lanes to architectural marvels and cultural treasures, every destination has a history waiting to be discovered. Because sometimes, the best part of travelling is not just seeing a place, but understanding the stories that shaped it. ✨

Raising my child while cutting the noise people pour around me. 🧿❤️

Im 6 months postpartum and this is my reality today.

🌼 I have stepped out once past 8pm in last the 6 months, only for a family event. I follow a strict bedtime routine which gives me no space to step outside at any given night.

🌼I gave my son a bottle in the first 1.5 months of birth and somehow felt very guilty of it. I had to talk myself out that im giving my baby something apart from my body. Eventually I stopped pumping completely.

🌼I havent “bounced back”. At 6 months mothers start working, going to office. I simply got more consumed into the process, figured whats best for me and my baby and worked towards systems to establish it. I dont intend to work full time anymore till my child turns 2.

🌼I dont trust anyone easily with my child yet. Even with family, I have my guard up a lot on how people behave with my child. Im learning to let go little by little.

🌼Working out seems a distant. I want to be fitter and stronger for my child but somehow I havent come to a system that helps me attain that yet.

🌼Me and my husband sleep in different rooms on many nights. The bed is tight and having to fit in 3 of us while feeding through the night seemed hard. We just make it work to pour from our cups.

🌼We bring our baby along everywhere. Im not the mother who can leave her baby behind. A date, parlour visit, meeting a friend - he is with me everywhere. I have left him for a maximum of 20 mins out of my sight till date.

🌼It took me 5 months to fully accept this is my life now and there is no going back. The first 5 months, I pushed my ends to get back to the old me. Then one day I simply surrendered to the spiritual process motherhood is, and I’ve been happier.

🌼My biggest regret is not traveling more, or not traveling now. I thought I would be a cool mom and travel with my baby everywhere. Turns out, Im not. I believe in well rested babies, a smooth structure and my baby being in bed early.

I’m learning everyday and embracing this new chapter❤️

The day I gave birth, something significant in me shifted. I became a new person, a new version of myself. Im building her slowly, Im becoming her slowly. ❤️

From the day Monika walked in for her first antenatal check up, we knew that she possessed a quiet kind of strength. We also could feel her immediate resonance to Sanctum's model of care.

Through her pregnancy she would come for her check ups, creating her own calm❤️

All of her mind-body prep would ultimately pay off, as her due date would come and go. Her family would be worried and ask her to get induced. But she would choose to trust her body's wisdom and her midwives, and start to work with natural methods to stimulate labor at 41 weeks complete.

Having her baby in her arms at 41 weeks +2 days, would require patience, exceptional labor support and a Warrior Mom mindset. ✨

This is her story!

For the longest time, I didn’t want to be a mother. And it wasnt about not having kids. It was the idea of me being a mother just didn’t fit into my story - the story I wanted to create for myself.

But gradually, I embraced this new life. It was only after giving birth, that I saw the power I had as a mother. I saw that joy existed in the simplest of things, smallest moments, sleepy laughs, and between all those cuddles.

Somewhere I learnt that this chapter is a phase of my big life, and really, the feeling of having my baby breathe on my chest is going to last for such a short time - something I will always come back to again and again. ❤️
