HELGA BORBAS @borbashelga
Hybrid Identity

In Hybrid Identity, Helga Borbas treats painting as an inner terrain, where opposing states of existence meet. Vulnerability and force, rupture and release, life and death surface through a visceral language of gesture and material.

The mixed technique on honeycomb paperboard gives the work a physical tension, its fragile support holding an image concerned with the instability of the human condition. Identity appears not as something fixed, but as a shifting accumulation of impulses, memories, fears, and desires.

Borbas’s “inner roads” lead beneath the visible surface, towards the subconscious and the places where certainty begins to dissolve. Hybrid Identity becomes a passage into those deeper layers, where the self is continually breaking apart and reforming.

Everything Then is Now II: PLATFORM 0 returns to the Old Waiting Room at Peckham Rye Station as a meditation on origin, return, and transformation. Presented by CAM – Casoria Contemporary Art Museum and SPIRA9 ART, the exhibition reimagines the station as a living threshold, where memories linger, histories echo, and the past continually folds into the present.
