Most people use whatever Claude model it gives them by default. That’s like walking into a company and asking the first person you see.

There are four, and each one is built for a different job:

Fable → the senior advisor. Big decisions, deep analysis, your hardest questions.
Opus → the director. Long projects with lots of moving parts.
Sonnet → the manager. Emails, summaries, everyday work.
Haiku → the associate. Quick lookups, fast rewrites, simple tasks.

Match the model to the job and you get better answers without working harder.
