A4 and 2G are pleased to present A4 2024 Van Lier Fellow in Theater Borna Barzin’s (@borna_joon) final presentation “Like This.” Cast members will read from the script of the play, which he wrote and directed. Light refreshments to follow the reading. In the play, an East Coast couple named Kaivon and Josh embark on a romantic getaway to Kaivon’s grandmother’s home in Half Moon Bay, California. However, their supposedly secret rendezvous is abruptly interrupted by the chaos of Kaivon’s eccentric, dysfunctional family. Inspired by the love poems of the ancient Persian poet Rumi, with a nod to Shakespeare, this surreal journey is packed with heightened emotions and pure magic.Cast members:Marjan NeshatRodd CyrusPooya MohseniBrendan GeorgeAmir MalaklouSound Design by Sinan ZafarThis program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and The New York Community Trust Van Lier Fellowships.📆 11/18, 3–5pm📍 Kapp Kapp Gallery, NYC🎟️ FREE and open to the public. I was first introduced to Chuck Mee’s work by @les_waters when I assisted on a play of his at Berkeley Rep. Today Chuck came to see the final show of my production of his play Summertime at NYU. I love this man’s plays so much. Was so so honored to share it with him. by @borna_joon
