I Promote Being A 'Community Bodyguard.' One spin or interpretation I have on the #bodyguard theme is I don't try to protect rich people who often look down upon poor ones. This stance is one-eighty in the opposite direction from where the #executiveprotection industry is squarely aimed. While I applaud the evolution of this personal protection field, my focus has never been on providing close protection for politicians, celebrities, CEOs, trust fund babies, etc.  Frankly, that stuff leaves me cold. I protect working class folks I lovingly call, 'everyday VIPs' in defiance of the executive protection industry emphasis on high networth and ultra high networth individuals. The rich and shameless (no typo) will always have bodyguards and EP agents. My concern is for regular people, and the rare monied person who isn't a greedy pig, who also have close protection needs that often go unaddressed. That's why I promote being a 'community bodyguard' (term popped in my head while at work today), meaning security professionals and capable concerned citizens who protect working class people when the need arises. I've offered free backup to crime victims, activists and the occasional upper middle class professional who isn't a jerk, for decades. It's the genesis of my safety creation theory. Most folks I've helped.can't afford to hire a security detail. I just don't think the rich and shameless (again, no typo) are the only ones who deserve close protection. In the world of bodyguards and executive protection agents that's a radical thought-and proudly so. As a creative private protector, I'm not a traditional security professional. My 'community bodyguard' concept isn't traditional either and again, proudly so. I promote the radical notion that working class lives deserve close protection just like high income ones do. Keep Fighting For Your 'Super', What I Call Unique Potential and Ability To Help Others Daily physical training takes on new meaning after a near-fatal medical issue last year. Now, in addition to training for self development and as an advocate and private protector, self defense and if necessary, defense of others, I now train to 'defend' past fitness by fighting to reclaim it and- surpass it. I'm a fighter, not in a pugilistic or belligerent sense but meaning I understand battle as a metaphor for our struggle to realize potential in the face of inner and outer challenges. I'm fighting to regain my past self and retool my future self. Alot of you are too! Keep praying. Keep meditating. Keep exercising. Keep training. Who Me, A 'Prayerful Panther???' In the wee hours of the morning before sunrise, on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, God told me (yes me, the Brother who still says he's not a holy roller LOL), that He wants me to be a 'prayerful Panther' to add spirituality to grassroots advocacy outside of office suites and sanctuaries of theology. What the original Black Panthers did for political organizing, we must do today for spiritual organizing, not to make anybody one religion or the other,!but to mobilize our faiths to 'leave the pulpit and hit the pavement.' I'm not a minister. Let me make that very, very clear. If anything, I'm a secular one. Letting spirit infuse strategy to create safety, share supply and generate justice in society. Not preach. That's not my calling. We can't be the original Panthers of the past, but we can evolve their example to address the present and the future. Prayerfully. Productively. Putting our faiths into action. Kissing Rich People's Behinds Isn't A Security Skill. One irreconcilable difference between me, an 'everyday people prote! agents, in my cynical opinion, is that I don't think kissing smug rich people's behinds is a valuable security skill. I hasten to add this isn't a smear of professionals who provide close protection for high net worth, and above, principals or protectees. This is an impression formed from years spent watching EP agents comment on deference shown haughty high-end clientele. It's simply hard for someone like me, for whom creating safety with clients includes also respecting my dignity, to passively endure the arrogance and disrespect of wealthy people who I would be protecting. I cherish everyday folks I call 'working class VIPs' with whom my advocacy and paid safety creation is centered. They aren't lords to whom I bend my knee. Instead, we're community members united in improving outcomes. No 'big I's nor 'little you's.' The rich and shameless (no typo) will always have their protectors. That's yet another reason why I worry more about the safety of those comprising society's majority. My acute concern and priority remains mobilizing and popularizing working class people, both in and out of private protection, becoming 'community bodyguards' by offering each other volunteer safety escort services. 'Horror Day' Season Starts On Halloween. Holiday season starts, in my book at least, with Halloween (Not an endorsement of demonic overtones btw). It's simply the first big national observance before Thanksgiving. For me as a security watcher, it's also the beginning of what I call, 'horror day' season where apolitical criminals and politically motivated terrorists often increase targeting of people and places. As parties proliferate and public spaces resound with revelry, we'd do well to consider 'the werewolf' of sudden violence using these gatherings as brutal backdrops. This is just a quick reminder to normal, well-adjusted folks that times of increased crowds are also ones of increased risk, too. I'll leave the preparation details to you but please keep in mind that  'horror days' of holiday peril start on Halloween, where some ghouls and goblins are very real. Be A 'Super Helper'-Not A 'Super Sucker.' I live in a city overflowing with fractured psyches beneath its carefully curated 'perpetual party' environment. As such, my outreach and assistance has to be measured. I'm a realist and realistically speaking, I'm not under any illusion that I can 'fix' anybody. I'm not trying to 'fix' people in safety or supply need. That's condescending, corny in the 'limousine liberal' or leftist 'White savior ' sense and frankly, delusional. I'm merely one community member reaching into his skills and supply to mobilize with other community members. When it comes to the above mentioned overflow of fractured psyches, outreach and assistance are done within ironclad boundaries. The amount of mental illness, 'mental ignorance' (one of my nicknames for criminal or disruptive mindsets), drug addiction and bad frames or worldviews means treading very carefully. I understand compassion alone can't correct psychosis or narcotic dependency. Ask family and friends who almost lost everything trying to prop up loved ones in these hopeless downward spirals Surrounded by revelry, yet aware of drowned out tragedy, I do my work and advocacy in this city, not hard hearted but definitely aware of hardwon lessons it teaches would-be do-gooders it'll chew up and spit out if they don't do good within set limits. I know just the how quickly local con artists and desperate souls will drain 'super suckers' dry who think their sacrifices will change anything. It won't.  My warning to fellow altruists is, be a 'super helper,' someone going the extra mile for the community, within boundaries, not a 'super sucker' who'll be forgotten one millisecond after running out of resolve and resources after trying to 'fix' folks who don't-or can't-change. Give encouragement, food, or even money when you can but please don't confuse such sharing with waving a magic wand. You're doing the right thing but remember- you're not a magician. I Don't Play 'The Big Dumb Black Guy' For Anybody! Here's a ‘grouchy morale booster’ at my grouchy best, LOL: One thing you'll never see me do is pretend to be less competent than I am in order to suit someone's low opinion of large Black men-or Brothers of any size. Growing up 'uppity' in the Old South gave me a ringside seat for the sick master/slave role that continues to this day. I've noticed that the 'Blacker' the security profession gets, the more one must secure his or her dignity against bigotry. I've encountered, and corrected, individuals who erroneously thought my being a large, dark skinned Black man meant I'm somehow unintelligent or supposed to take disrespect without comment. I've had people try, and fail, to presume I was supposed to be an auxiliary trash man or servant because they resented my being an intelligent PWB, 'protector while Black' at White owned bars I secured. While I respect trashmen, that's not a service I offer. Given my community's history, I say, let slave master-minded people take out their own d*mned trash!  The same people who want to hide behind your big Black body for protection don't want to deal with the big brain that comes with it. It's a package deal! Lol Suffice it to say, if you want a 'safety creator,' who uses intellect and intuition to work with people to make outcomes better at events, buildings or regarding personal safety, I'm your guy.
