Empty Field to Self-Sufficient | Our 4 Year Journey (Start to Finish)

Heya folks! What a journey it has been these last few years. We started in 2020, putting in our ponds and food forests. Going no dig in 2021, opening our farm shop, delivering produce to restaurants... And the rest is history. We've been completely self-sufficient and abundant in the most delicious seasonal vegetables and eggs for over 2 years now. I hope you enjoy this little video showing the progress as it happened and taking you right through to today in our permaculture paradise of food and wildlife. Feel free to ask any questions or check out our other videos to see things in more detail.

Take a walk on the wild side. Bosco's Garden, May 2026. by @boscosgarden

I was interviewed today by a journalist about my trips to Ukraine and the upcoming film. She asked me, from my experience, what my one message would be. Here it is:

Peace comes from within. War is happening all over the world. Be it in Ukraine, the Middle East, Africa or the cold war between China and Taiwan/America... It's a ceaseless struggle that has plagued us monkeys since we first started rubbing sticks together. All we can do is learn to appreciate and nurture the peace we have in front of us, in our own lives and hope that it might propagate throughout the world. To avoid extreme views, whether they be left or right, try to find understanding and common ground in our day-to-day lives with the people we interact with. In all the interviews for my film, I asked: "What does peace mean to you?" This is my answer. It's the same as a good relationship. It's built on give and take, a healthy amount of self-doubt and willingness to learn and understand. We're all human and we all, bar a tiny minority, want peace. Unfortunately, however, anger is usually quicker off the mark.

Peace is what we make of it. Peace is a garden.

In the words of John Lennon, "War is over, if you want it."

And Joni Mitchell, "We are stardust, we are golden, and we've got to get ourselves back to the garden." by @boscosgarden

Rest in peace Dr. Elaine Ingham of @soilfoodwebschool

I highly recommend checking out some of her fascinating talks on YouTube. A brilliant and inspiring woman whos work has, and will go on to influence soil microbiologists and farmers around the world.

That's a wrap! The weather allowed us to
complete 9 out of our 10 planned shoots in August. So,
not too bad!

The final day was spent with Tanguy and Isabelle de
Toulgoët of @dunmorecountryschool , and I'm still trying
to put the pieces of my blown mind back together!
What a place!

Along the journey, everywhere we visited had
something unique to offer, and I think the series will
convey a wide range of techniques and experiences on
the topics of permaculture, regenerative farming,
syntropic gardening, forest gardening and
homesteading.

Now, as autumn begins to roll in, it's time to get to work
in the edit suite and start sharing them with you fine
