One incredible day we won’t ever forget - 05/15/26

We recently just got a little sneak peek of some film that was shot by the wonderful @maddiwaldophoto. A massive shoutout to our friends and family for celebrating with us, you guys rule 🫶

Finally thanks to our vendors for knocking it out of the park and @dianesplacemn for being the venue we dreamed of.

I don’t usually post up but when I do, it never goes the way I want it to. (circa 2015, me winning MN state cx champs)  I’m having a tough time describing how I feel about yesterday, obviously i’m over the moon about my ride and the opportunity to take the win. But, I surprised the heck out of myself and i’m so incredibly grateful. I want to thank everyone for your kind words and love the last two days. I have a lot of gratitude towards the support that right in front of me. It really means the world to me!!   My goal for @lutsen_99er was a top 5, maybe even a top 3. I try to win every time I line up at a bike race but yesterday it didn’t start becoming a reality until we were over half way though the race and I could tell I was the strongest one on the day. I slowly started to believe in myself. The legs felt good, no mechanicals, I was hydrated, well fed, nothing went wrong and I just had luck on my side. SOOOO INCREDIBLY STOKED!!  I guess this means I need to attempt Leadville!

Howdy! Figured i’d get this out before it’s too late but TNCX lives on after next week with a new series called @roadrunnercup.

We’ll be racing Tuesday nights at @loppetfoundation under the lights! Scheduled races are October 13, 20 and 27th. With a potential fourth race on November 10th but snowmaking TBD. #cxisnotdead

There is still a bunch of stuff to organize on my end but for now here is the meat and potatoes.

4 Categories, Beginner, Kids Race, FTW & Intermediate/Advanced. Registration will be $20. Juniors race free all dates. FTW race free on Oct 20th. Handlebar light or helmet light mandatory.

Many more details to come, I will be looking for help and will need volunteers so if you are able please reach out to me. A huge thanks to @berdspokes, @loppetfoundation, @endurancepromotions for the support.

Let’s make this a dang good time, I can’t wait!

SOLDIER HOLLOW MEDIA DUMP

this past weekend i was out in utah for the soldier hollow world cup! we(@berdspokes) is a sponsor of @trekfactoryracingxc. we wanted to gift the riders and some staff something special so we decided to get them crocs, with customized jibbitz. thanks to the team at berd, this was such a fun project.

every rider got some berd & trek jibbitz. i had asked a trek-unbroken staff member to give me a favorite thing of each rider and then we got to 3d printing. we got the idea from the red sram flip flops but these definitely are 100x better

if you’ve been following me for a while, you know i love a good uhaul. i can’t believe it’s been 5 years but @hildebrandt22 and i would rent these on our cx weekend trips. such a gain because it was cheap and could carry a lot of schmidt.

monday morning we got to ride probably one of my favorite mtb rides in a minute. park city has it all, so sick! thanks @jrwessling for showing us around.

yup, that’s just as hard as it was 12 years ago. fun night out ripping up the grass at aquila park. thanks to @versusraceteam for hosting and bringing out 30+ riders in the FTW race!! to me that is a MASSIVE W in what seems to be a dying discipline in minnesota. i will gladly admit that i don’t do as many as i once did when i was racing every weekend chasing the dream.

so what’s it gonna take for riders/people to show up to cx events in the future? even if you’re not racing, why not come out and support your community and turn these events into fun hang out sessions. for those racing, no one actually cares about where you finish, i promise you that. the sport is hard, i get that but that’s what makes it fun. is it accessible? mostly. is it expensive? yes, don’t disagree with that but there are ways for you to be supported by our community.

if you could give me one suggestion to make cx easier, more accessible, or cost effective or anything that i might have missed i will gladly take suggestions. i’m currently scheming to create a weekly series once the TNCX series is over starting in october that will be under the lights, extremely grass roots, crowd funded and a cheap entry fee. all or any comments will be accepted, positive or not, i’m down to have a discussion.

let’s bring cx back to what it was!

happy 5th “birthday” to my dogter! we don’t actually know shiloh’s birthday but it’s the day the bond between found her. she was abandoned down south, poor girl. fun fact, her adoption name was sweetie.

there’s only a few races on my calendar that really excite me and @raceacrossduluth is one of them. i think this is a sign that i need to add more flatbar dirt to my schedule if i decide to keep racing in 2027. looking forward to traversing across 45 miles next weekend and seeing the views of the biggest freshwater lake in the world. by @boshjauer
