This #IWD24 I celebrate my mami. Of course, I always thought she was phenomenal, she’s my mami. It is unreal acknowledging she is no longer with us in the physical. Yet, in her passing I’ve heard so many stories from strangers, her childhood friends, spiritual leaders, loved ones and her small island community. She was strong, confident, beautiful and an up stander. She never shied away from saying what needed to be said. She was hard working and nurturing to all as if they were her very own children. She was known for opening her home to others. She was funny, selfless, a teacher, a change maker and servant leader in her community.

We’ve been quietly making our rounds, putting up flyers, having conversations, sharing through WhatsApp, and leaning into the community connections that make Bimini so special. But it’s time to bring our Instagram family in on all the goodness we’ve been planning!

On Saturday, November 14, we’re gathering at Resorts World Bimini for Give Her Her Flowers: Women of Impact Awards, an evening dedicated to celebrating the incredible women of Bimini and reminding them that they deserve their flowers while they’re here to receive them. We’re bringing together celebration, sisterhood, wellness, community, and a whole lot of love. And we can’t wait! 💐

There are still so many ways to be part of what we’re creating. You can purchase a ticket, reserve a table, sponsor a woman’s seat, become an event partner, or contribute to one of the special experiences we’re bringing to life. Whether you’re joining us in the room or supporting from afar, there’s a place for you in this celebration.

Bimini, we’re coming together to give our women their flowers. And it’s going to be beautiful. 🫶🏾🌺

Three years without you, Mami. 🩷🕊️

A year before we lost her, my mother hosted the very first Give Her Her Flowers celebration. I don’t think either of us could have imagined just how much meaning those words would carry today. What she started continues to bloom through Bloom House Impact. What began as a celebration has become a mission rooted in women’s wellness, love, community, and the belief that every woman deserves to feel valued, supported, and celebrated.

I believe women can live happier, healthier, fuller lives when we’re intentional about pouring into those who spend so much of their lives pouring into everyone else. That’s the kind of world I want to help create through Bloom House Impact. As we prepare to gather in Bimini next month for the Give Her Her Flowers: Women of Impact Awards, I can’t help but think about how proud my mami would be to see what has grown from the seeds she planted. 🌸

So today, in honor of Franka Saunders, I encourage you to give a woman her flowers. Not when she’s gone. Not when it’s too late. But while she’s here to receive them. Mami, your legacy continues to bloom. This will always be for you. 🩷

If my memory serves me right, I haven’t played mas in Miami since Mami passed. Her passing and Carnival weekend will almost always fall within the same week, which makes this time of year a little complicated for me.

Grief week is unpredictable… but Carnival is an indescribable kind of joy, and right now, I’m really looking forward to it. 🫶🏾

So in the meantime… getting my steps in and practicing my chip down the road because WE GOT 14 DAYS! 😂💃🏾🎶

Seven years later, and there’s still no hood like Sweat Sisterhood. 🥹💕 I first connected with @prettygirlssweat through my professional work seven years ago, and through every season since, I’ve continued to find my way back — pouring in, staying connected and showing up however I could. This year felt different.

The past year has been an incredibly trying chapter of my life, one that is still being written. And in ways I probably haven’t even fully processed, this community has carried me through pieces of it — giving me somewhere to show up, serve, move, laugh, be surrounded by women and remember parts of myself. So getting to wear two hats this year — returning to the PGS Dream Team for the third time AND bringing @bloomhouseimpact in as a community partner — was a full-circle moment I don’t take lightly. 🥹🌸 I truly don’t know how I pulled both off 😂 but I was reminded that when you have amazing women around you who believe in you and the work, you don’t have to carry the vision alone.

And a BIGGGG thank you to my Bloom Galiessss 🌸💕 @ctucker_iv @stonirocks @melodyashadei @bellabdashhh Y’all showed up, held me down, believed in the vision and helped me bring it to life while I was being pulled in all kinda directions. 😂 I could not have done this without y’all. My gals deserve their flowers too! 💐

To every woman who experienced our Give a Very Well Gal Her Flowers activation, I hope you received exactly what you needed from that moment. I hope you felt seen, celebrated and poured into. And I hope you continue to bloom with us. 🌸

And @aeshiadevorebranch , watching you lead and pour into this sisterhood continues to inspire me — especially now as I navigate what it means to build something of my own. 15 years is BIG. Happy 15th to PGS and cheers to everything still to come. 💕

I’m leaving this weekend grateful, full and inspired to keep going. Keep building. Keep trusting my purpose. And keep surrounding myself with women who remind me that none of us have to do this alone. There really is no hood like Sweat Sisterhood. 💕 by @bossarita
