Made the mistake of switching wheels before this run and couldn’t tell how much I grip I would have through this flat righty. Poked out a slide so slight @_mitch_thompson_ didn’t even see it driving the follow car

Thinking more about the @wdschampionship & @wgsf_racing 2024 race season - specifically in regards to the number of women’s skate (8) allowed on the circuit vs the number of men’s luge (16)

The WDSC said they created those numbers based on attendance numbers of their previous events. The WDSC has had trouble aligning themselves with well run events with solid turnouts, so I looked at some other numbers

The WDSC aims to be skateboard racing at the highest level, so I took numbers from WRG 2022, the only high prestige downhill event with qualification requirements in recent memory

At WRG 2022 in Argentina the rider totals per category were:
Women’s Skate: 30
Men’s Streetluge: 15

So if women’s skate had twice the number of participants as streetluge, why does luge get twice the number of participants on the 2024 WDSC circuit?

Is it because the 3 people in charge of WDSC are men? Or because 2 of them are lugers and the other has no experience in any category? Or is it a secret third thing?

Would love a larger conversation, or at least a response from @will_streetluger_stephenson @pinkluger @wdschampionship , but I’m also not optimistic of getting one. Curious what other people think on the topic by @boston.pepperoni

Safety slide worked out really well here

I couldn’t tell if that van was going to park in the corner and wait for me to pass or keep driving up, so I opted to do a safety slide just in case. Luckily they kept driving and I was able to use the whole road. Thank you lead car 🙏
