📍 Sushi Kappo Toraya

It almost sounds like Arlington is gatekeeping this little gem because I had to dig through subreddits to find this spot. Anyways, all of the portions are petite, so if we wanted to be full we may have to order a few dishes for 2 people. Please refer to the menu for prices, imo $27 for a dinner sashimi platter comparing to the options you have in the city. Unless you head to sakanaya sashimi fish market for a diy platter, I don’t think I’ve had good quality affordable sashimi.

The aunties are so funny and my favourite dish there was the 豉油王炒麵 ( soy sauce stir fry noodle ). It’s a dish that’s so simple yet so hard to master the crispness and flavourful ness without being smothered with oil and they do it very well. The price was reasonable compared to the ones you find around the area. It’s good for big groups and it’s good when you want to try a bit of everything without committing to any dish. Is it the best I’ve ever had in my life? No, mostly because I grew up having dim sum in Hong Kong every week, but it is a stable and solid option, which is what dim sum is about. For example, My grandpa doesn’t go to the best dim sum restaurant in Hong Kong, but the one where he has befriended all the staff. I think Kevin needs to drop the recipe at this point🤩 but it’s so nice to see a small business get the hype they deserve! Anyways, if you are wondering if you should get it then you should just get it and lemme know what u think, I’m curious. We have tried many Korean spots around Boston and both of us agree that Kevin’s food is pretty solid. Crystal bakery
📍829 Washington street, Newton, MA

Their ice cream mochis are the Asian dessert of the summer. 🥰🥰🥰 That one mochi for snack filled us up so much we didn’t have dinner that night. Is it far? Yes. But is it worth going because it’s exactly what I had hope for in a mochi, absolutely!
