The first shot was perfect… until the arrow decided otherwise. 😅

This is one of the reasons why you never dive alone.

We always dive in turns, one goes down and one watching, not only for safety but also to back each other up when things don’t go to plan.

Luke put the first shot into this dogtooth, but when the arrow came off, I was there for the second shot and we managed to secure the fish.

A few years ago, the idea of dropping deep in the open ocean with nothing but a speargun was completely intimidating.

Huge shoutout to the boys for taking me out the first few times @andyben8 and @clay.lostandfound who gave me my first gun 💚

Few years later @igrassetphoto would take me to the big leagues of spearfishing. Teaching me how to read the underwater currents, how to patiently wait at the bottom, observe about each fish behavior and most important, to keep an eye in your hunting partner to stay safe in the water.

Learning to hunt your own food changes your respect for the ocean entirely.
