Wine Review 🍇🍷
Another bottle and another round of wildly unqualified opinions.
El and Ash taste, score, and argue their way through the pour, serving honesty with a splash of chaos.
🍷 Bottle: Pierre Girardin Pommard 1er Cru “Les Grands Épenots” 2022
💁🏻‍♀️ El’s Score: 19/20 — “This had me acting like I understood Burgundy maps and had generational wealth. Silky, spicy and dangerously easy to love.”
💁🏻‍♂️ Ash’s Score: 19.5/20 — “This was unreal. Big flavour, heaps going on, but never felt heavy. It kept opening up in the glass and disappeared far too quickly.”
📈 Verdict: A ridiculous bottle. Powerful, silky and seriously classy, with dark fruit, spice and a finish that just kept going. One of the best Burgundies we’ve had — unfortunately, Burgundy continues to be financially abusive. by @bottledtherapy_

🍷 Bottle: 2018 Howard Park Leston Cabernet Sauvignon

💁🏻‍♂️Ash’s Score: 18/20 — “Classic Margaret River cab. Dark fruit, smooth finish and seriously solid — no complaints from me.”
📈 Verdict: A polished Margaret River cab that knows exactly what it’s doing. Smooth, steady and very easy to enjoy — more “quiet confidence” than show-off, which works perfectly here. by @bottledtherapy_

Wine Review 🍇🍷
Another bottle, another round of opinions nobody asked for.
This week we headed to Burgundy and, shockingly, agreed on more than usual.

🍷 Bottle: 2022 Jean-Marc Pillot Saint-Romain La Périère

💁🏻‍♀️ Ellie’s Score: 18/20 — “Fresh, smooth and dangerously easy to drink. Looked fancy, tasted even better and disappeared very quickly.”

🙋🏻‍♂️ Ash’s Score: 18/20 — “Crisp, citrusy and had a nice creamy finish. Not a huge loud wine, but it quietly got the job done.”

🏆 Overall Verdict: Like the friend who doesn’t say much but somehow becomes everyone’s favourite by the end of the night. Fresh, polished and absolutely no leftovers. by @bottledtherapy_
