Your 30s hit different because you finally stop apologizing for being self-taught, multi-medium and "all over the place."
Eventually you realize no permission slip is coming.

Here’s a piece that’s really close to my heart. This pot is a blend of symbolism rooted in my multi-cultural heritage. In Korea, the tiger is a guardian, symbolizing strength; in Hungary, the tulip represents divinity and femininity. They’re pieces of me, now stitched into stoneware. I’ve been dreaming up this marriage of mediums for a long time, and fully realized how to execute during my residency at @minxfactory ...after many ‘what ifs’ and mistakes. It’s a humble nod to my roots, and a love letter to my parents. 🐅🌷 taken in Barcelona, Spain by @bottomheavy

Ok so she went into the glaze firing with four blades. She came out with… less.

So she’s less whimsical “windmill” lady and more lady wearing her trauma on her head?? I’m still weirdly fond of her.

This was my favorite piece of Peachtober so far. Unfortunately, the kiln gods had other plans. So gutted! This hasn’t happened to me in years. I rushed it so serves me right.

Shoutout to the homie Kathryn who really tried to help me get her fired in time. I know she was rooting for this little lady too.

For COMPASS, I went with a moral compass. 🧭 A little lady with the classic angel and devil on her shoulders. As you can see…. Her face blew off. The fallen angel lost a wing but somehow kept her halo intact. The devil is still kicking back on the lady’s shoulder, completely unbothered.

Is this a metaphor?? Ehhh I wish I was that cool.

Anyway, I’ll probably make her again. I was really fond of her and would’ve liked to meet her in technicolor.

Okay so she was out for a walk when she came over a little faint. Luckily, there was a flower patch nearby, so she climbed into the first bloom with enough room and made herself comfortable.

Only for a minute, she said. That was several hours ago!

Made a little lady who needs words of affirmation but would rather you didn’t know that about her tbh. Idk it’s complicated.

Trying something new with chipboard, gouache and a Kerry gold butter wrapper??

The making of STICKER for Peachtober. Yes, I gave her a gold star. Yes, I’d also like one.

My primary love language is words of affirmation, which is inconvenient for someone who’d like to think she doesn’t need anyone’s approval. What can I say? You can call me a rap-“scallion” because I’m so layered. 🧅 So yes, I always want the gold star. No, I won’t look pleased about it. I can’t explain further.
