It’s that time of year again where Jay Whalley & I put our noggins together for the now 11th annual Xmas Show! This years Xmas Show will take the opportunity to help raise money for Newcastle’s Food Not Bombs collective - a grassroots, volunteer-run mutual aid group that shares free vegan meals and resources in the Newcastle area. All proceeds from the show will go to @foodnotbombs_newcastle This year Jay & I are putting together a cover band with friends @kyesmith_ (Local Resident Failure) & @willhiltonmitch (Melvic Centre). Tastefully named “Thirsty Merkin”, this “for one night only” cover band will blast some classic Aus pub rock classics, timeless bangers, obscure as well as much loved punk anthems. We will be joined by special guests during our set so do not miss this hootenanny! More importantly these amazing real life bands are playing @boudicca_aus @essemtunes @_laurapanicband The Pee Wee 50’s @verybighouse @joint_pains.music @wireknives Tickets are on sale now! Soooooo we decided a few weeks ago to finally get our beloved Knights tribute sticker design printed onto shirts, and @makemerchandise helped us get these together last week! We’re at the museum for a massive FREE, all-ages show on Thursday October 1st alongside a fabulous lineup of local bands (and more!), and what better way is there to kick off the biggest weekend this town has seen in 25 years? ⋆༺𓆩⚔𓆪༻⋆ Newcastle Knights tribute design by our very own Tegan (2022), featuring the Awabakal name for the meeting of Coquun Hunter River and the sea, Muloobinbah: place of sea ferns. Also, a Roman legionary helmet has been used to connect to our defiant namesake and history-mad song content. The photo on our own little poster design for NMPM: Punk is Ralph Snowball’s ‘Miners aggregate meeting, Lambton Park, Lambton, NSW, 29 February 1896.’ It is part of the Norm Barney Photographic Collection, held by Special Collections at the University of Newcastle. Shirts printed by Make Merchandise on Ramo ringer tees. These shirts are a super limited run and there are no holds, sorry! After Newcastle Museum, we play Kaurna Land Adelaide for the first time on Saturday October 3rd at @jivevenue with @stabbithaandtheknifeywifeys and @rosieandtheposiesadl and then we’re heading back home for the NRL Grand Final on Sunday! 💙❤️💙❤️💙 taken in Newcastle, New South Wales by @boudicca_aus
