That little post in the upper left corner? That used to be my “About Me.” I wrote it with a shaky kind of hope, one that whispered maybe I could teach myself to make pretty cakes (not just cupcakes), maybe I could design for weddings, maybe I could face my fear of teaching… and still be present with my babies.
Those dreams felt huge at the time. But I’ve learned:
You can do hard things...even when they don’t make sense yet.And if something feels impossibly hard? That’s usually the part right before it all clicks.
What’s unfolded since then has been nothing short of wild, in the best, messiest, most meaningful way.

Today, I’m a licensed cottage baker in Las Vegas.
My first wedding order? A massive one, in New York City.
I created The Boujee Cake Society, where I’ve launched 3 tutorials (and just wrapped filming the next one).
And somewhere between the chaos and creativity…my work was published in 2 magazines, one of them all the way in Vienna, Austria.
But none of that means anything if I lose the moments that matter most: Time with my husband, Mark, &our 2 boys, Oliver & Henry. Balancing it all is hands down the hardest thing I’ve ever done…but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Because this journey?
It’s not just about cakes. It’s about building something beautiful from scratch, when no one else sees the full vision but you. It’s about holding a piping bag in one hand and a toddler in the other, and choosing to keep going even when the “why” is the only thing that makes sense. It’s about the moms, the makers, and the dreamers doing it nap by nap, order by order, late night by late night.

if you’re someone who creates with your hands, pours your soul into the details, and still feels unsure about charging your worth? Please hear this: You’re not just selling cake. You’re selling time, vision, and the hands that brought it to life. Just because you make it look easy doesn’t mean it is. Respect your time. Respect your talent. Buttercream florals aren’t just decoration, they’re hours of trial, practice, and love. And they deserve to be valued. And so do you.

Thanks for being here, truly.

Another first here at Boujee Cakes! 🥹 A fantasy inspired sword cake straight out of an enchanted Sherwood Forest fairytale. 🗡️🏰

Stars, moons, dragons, swords & a little bit of magic. ✨ Twisting vines made entirely out of candy, whimsical woodland mushrooms made with nothing but buttercream, and an enchanted forest floor covered in edible moss. Every little detail bringing this magical world to life. 🍄🌿

Who knew a baby shower cake could feel like something straight out of a storybook?! 🥹✨

This cake… oh my goodness, this cake 🥹 I genuinely have no idea how I was able to get this one done in 4 days. I typically do not take last-minute requests, but I couldn’t say no to this color palette and theme. Neutrals with pops of color and a Spanish flair 😍💃🏻🪩

Honestly, I do believe it was the products I used that made the decorating process easier and quicker, allowing me to achieve such an elegant design under a time crunch. I used a new-to-me stencil from @cakesbyangelamorrison that was just PERFECT for the theme 🥹✨ and @cakesafe scalloped cake discs for the bottom tier ( also used my actual cake safe for transport) 👏🏻👏🏻 And then, of course, my usual buttercream flowers in a color palette I am STILL swooning over.

Thank you so much for trusting me to get this beauty done, @otwparty 🫶🏻🥰✨💃🏻 The whole party looked absolutely fabulous!

Thank you all for being here ✨ And as always…

It’s been a season of firsts over here at Boujee Cakes, and this little underwater creation brought back some pretty sweet memories. 🥹

Something most of you probably don’t know is that long before Boujee Cakes, I had a little business called Holly Pops & Cake Dots! And these weren’t your average cake pops. 😂 I specialized in incredibly detailed, themed cake pops, spending countless hours bringing the tiniest little details to life...like stressing over the perfectly place stands of emo hair for justin bieber cake pops...the shape of Mario's hat or hand molding channel lipsticks😂 those were wild times 😂

While Boujee Cakes has since become a world of buttercream florals, botanicals, and all things romantic and feminine, this sweet little mermaid cake felt like a tiny trip back to my roots.

From the delicate coral and seashells to that shimmering mermaid tail, I had so much fun playing with all those little details again.

A sweet reminder that while our art may evolve over the years, little pieces of where we started always stay with us. 🩷✨

all the color dusts and glitters i used here are from my favs @thesugarart and molding chocolate from @saracinodolci 💖

& a lot of inspiration from this cake came from some very talented ladies @but1st_dessert @annasheavenlydesserts.co 🫶🏻😍🥰

This was quite literally one of the CUTEST themes I have ever seen 😭✨ Dreamed up by one of my favoritest people @ryleegphotography( who took all these fabulous photos 😍) for her beautiful girl Zylee, who was turning 12! Think Dolly Parton meets disco cowgirl meets all things girly and I mean… COME ONNNN. 💕🤠🪩🎀

The details were EVERYWHERE and they were magic. ✨ From the EPIC backdrop by the insanely talented @balloonbestielv (that disco wall?!? AND that bow?!? I mean COME ONNNN 😭🤩) to the amazing paper backdrop by the amazing @mcninch.made 🤩🤩 it was absolutely perfect. Every single little detail came together so beautifully and made the whole Dolly Parton disco cowgirl dream come to life. 💕🤠🪩🎀

And then there was the CAKE. 😂 She was MASSIVE. Definitely bigger than I was anticipating 😂 but somehow we got this big ol’ Dolly girl transported beautifully in my @cakesafe and safely to the party! 🙌🏼

The stencils on the top two tiers are of course from @cakesbyangelamorrison 🥰✨ The giant sugar bow was made to match that incredible backdrop using @saracinodolci sugar paste, and all that pretty shimmer was created using @thesugarart ✨😍 And I had entirely too much fun sneaking in all the little Dolly inspired details… the cowboy boots, hat, bows, pearls, disco balls, lace, florals. Basically, if Dolly Parton were a cake, I feel like she’d approve. 😂💕🪩

Happy 12th Birthday, Zylee!! 💕✨ I hope this next year is every bit as sparkly, colorful and fabulously sweet as you are! 🪩🎀🤠

Because if there was ever a time for more bows, more sparkle and more PINK… it’s a Dolly Parton birthday. 💕✨🪩

𝓗𝓪𝓹𝓹𝔂 𝓕𝓪𝓵𝓵 𝓨𝓪𝓵𝓵 🧡🍁✨🌻💛

It most certainly does not feel like fall here in Las Vegas, but im happy as a clam living in imaginary land, drinking my hot pumpkin spice latte,
while wearing my fall fuzzy socks and piping buttercream flowers with the most gorgeous fall color pallet created using the @thesugarart natural colors.

If you are new here, earlier this year I introduced a line of options from Boujee Cakes that is more in line with how I eat in everyday life. Gluten free, organic carefully selected ingredients, organic grass fed protein & a handfull of other intentional ingredients you can pronounce and count on one hand….free from seed oils and artificial flavors & colors.

My traditional Boujee Cakes flavors haven't gone anywhere, this is simply another option for those of us who want to be a little more intentional about the things we choose to indulge in, weather for medical reasons or simply by choice. I wanted to create something that still feels just as indulgent and special, while using ingredients that align with a different set of preferences. 🤍

The colors I used here from the @thesugarart were marigold, canyon rose, harvest, dhalia, rain shadow, wedge wood, sea glass, sage & spring. All natural colors…still blows my mind how they created these 🤯 They do not change the taste or texture. There is soooo much color range in just one bottle 🤯

And I am so freaking grateful that companies like @thesugarart are creating things like this for us to play with. Being able to create this much color using natural ingredients and still have the same beautiful taste and texture is pretty freaking amazing. 🥹

Thank you @thesugarart for creating such a beautiful collection of natural colors and giving us cake artists another way to play with color. 🧡🍂✨

Happy Fall Y’all!! 🧡

From my very first buttercream sunflower… to now. 🥹🌻

And honestly, THIS is exactly why this tutorial is so special to me.

Years of practicing, refining, tweaking, experimenting and figuring out how to create more natural movement and dimension in my buttercream florals eventually became what I now call The Boujee Method. 🤍

And the funny thing is, this really isn’t just a sunflower tutorial. be
It’s a technique tutorial, and the sunflower just happens to be the lucky flower I’m introducing it with. 🌻😂 We’re diving into the little things that completely changed the way I approach buttercream florals, with techniques you can take beyond this one flower and carry into so many of your own creations.

Because that first sunflower? I was SO proud of her. 🥹 And I still am. She was part of getting me here.

But seeing the difference between where I started and what I know how to create now is exactly why I love teaching this stuff so much.

You don’t have to start where you want to end up. You just have to keep learning. 🤍

The Buttercream Sunflowers: The Boujee Method tutorial is officially LIVE. 🌻

Comment 🌻and I’ll send all the details straight to your DMs. ✨

𝒜𝓁𝓌𝒶𝓎𝓈 𝓉𝓊𝓇𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒯𝑜𝓌𝒶𝓇𝒹𝓈 𝓉𝒽𝑒 ℒ𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 🌻

There’s something about sunflowers that feels so much like motherhood to me 🌻
Warm. Steady. Bright. Always turning toward the light.

These cupcakes went out for a repeat client celebrating her mama’s birthday, and while creating them, I kept thinking about my own mom and just how much of who I am is because of her. When I was little, she was the one staying up late helping me finish the overly ambitious detailed projects I always dreamed up 😅 sewing costumes, gluing together school projects at midnight, packing for soccer tournaments, icing bumps and bruises from one too many cartwheels, soccer tackles and broken bones, and somehow always making everything feel okay again.
And honestly… not much has changed 😂

Now it’s watching my boys while I work piping buttercream flowers, tying bows onto boxes while I finish orders, helping me prep, organize, clean up chaos, and quietly supporting every wild business idea I’ve ever had. She has been there for all of it. Every version of me.

The older I get, the more I realize moms are so often the hands behind the magic. The people loving quietly in the background without ever asking for recognition. So today feels extra special because not only is it Mother’s Day weekend, but my sweet momma’s birthday was also on the 8th 🤍✨

To every kind of motherly love out there…
the moms raising babies, bonus moms, god moms, grandmas, pet moms, plant moms, the women longing to become mothers, and the mothers carrying the love and memory of babies they only got to hold for far too short a time… this day holds space for you too 🤍

Thank you for all the ways you love, nurture, comfort, encourage, sacrifice, and show up day after day. The world is softer because of women like you. @alpf08

Happy Mother’s Day 🌻✨

Stay Sweet & Stay Boujee 🤍

This cake was so special. We started talking about this cake for @leahbassett.photo well before her little bundle of joy was even on the way. After our branding session last year, we knew I would be making her baby shower cake someday. A little over a year later, here we are. 🥹 I may have possibly made my favoritest cake to date. (Yes, I know I say this all the time 🤣 I just REALLY love what I do.)

Inside was pumpkin spice cake with spiced apple cider vanilla bean filling. Blue gingham from @craftycakeshop , a sculpted buttercream pumpkin & @saracinodolci products for the bow& stem.

Now for Pooh 🥹 He was a VERY last-minute, 10pm night before delivery idea that I had no idea if I could pull off. With no edible ink printer, I traced the image onto parchment & transferred it onto modeling chocolate with a sharp little poker to kind of give myself an outline. Emphasis on the KIND OF. 🤣 Then I hand painted him using edible colors from @thesugarart . Halfway through he looked like a jumble of yellow & red watercolor & I almost gave up, but once those darker outlines went in, Pooh Bear finally came to life.“Everything’s going to be okay in the end. & if it’s not okay, it’s not the end.” Wise words from such a sweet little bear. 🤍

Then came the buttercream flowers 🌻 My sunflower technique is currently my pride and joy, and the full tutorial is coming to The Boujee Cake Society just in time for fall. I think what I love most about this cake is how many little details I had NO idea how I was going to pull off. The gingham, sculpted pumpkin, hand-painted Pooh, all those tiny buttercream flowers… somehow they came together into this sweet little storybook cake that I truly didn’t want to let go.

Maybe that’s why that first Pooh quote feels extra fitting. Sometimes it really is the smallest things, the tiny details and the little ideas you almost talk yourself out of, that end up taking up the most room in your heart. 🤍🌻 Congratulations @leahbassett.photo So honored I got to create a little piece of such a beautiful day. by @boujee_cakes_
