This is Tosha’s story, told in her own words.

It’s a story about addiction, breaking generational cycles, and, in Tosha’s words, “finding purpose through pain."

She chose to share her story because she knows what it can mean to see a way forward through someone else:

“If by sharing my story, it just touches one person and they reach out and get the help like I did, then I’ll feel it served its purpose.”

We’re honored she trusted us to be part of her recovery journey and to help share her story.

Meet Tosha.

Harm reduction doesn’t look the same for everyone.

For some people, it means carrying naloxone or never using alone. For others, it can mean reducing use, avoiding mixing substances, starting medication, getting peer support, or stopping completely.

There’s more than one way to make substance use safer, and every step toward safety matters.

“It’s like talking to a sister.”

For Tosha, having a peer like Crystal means talking to someone who understands from lived experience.

After more than three years of messages, hard days, and growth together, they finally got to meet in person 💙

Naloxone can save a life during an opioid overdose, and getting it may be easier than you think.

Also known by the brand name Narcan, naloxone is available over the counter and can often be found through:

• Pharmacies
• Harm reduction programs
• Local and state health departments
• Healthcare providers
• Free or low-cost mail-order programs
• Retailers like CVS and Walmart

Knowing where to get naloxone before you need it can make all the difference. Save this post and share it with someone who should know.

7-OH can leave people feeling trapped, especially when they started taking it believing it was a “natural” option for pain, anxiety, or even getting off opioids.

But there’s more understanding of kratom and 7-OH today, and there are providers who know how to help.

You don’t have to figure out what comes next by yourself. 💙

“It’s about loving myself, pouring into myself.”

For Tosha, recovery hasn’t just been about the big milestones. It’s been the small wins too.

Waking up. Going to work. Showing up for herself. Loving herself. Letting go of shame and slowly feeling like herself again.

Those everyday moments can mean a lot when you’ve had to fight to get them back 💙

We’re proud to partner with Project RED.

Project RED is helping expand access to naloxone, overdose prevention supplies, and education across Oregon, especially in rural and underserved communities.

At Boulder, we believe lifesaving support should be easier to reach. This partnership helps connect overdose prevention with accessible addiction treatment and care.

Because the goal is simple: keep people alive and make help easier to reach.

Thinking about switching from kratom or 7-OH to Suboxone?

Kratom can start as a way to manage pain, opioid withdrawal, or cravings. But over time, some people find themselves dealing with tolerance, dependence, and withdrawal from kratom itself.

Our latest blog breaks down what to know about making the switch, including:

- How kratom and 7-OH affect opioid receptors
- Why Suboxone works differently
- What the research says about treating kratom dependence
- Why timing matters when starting Suboxone
- What a medically supported transition can look like

If kratom or 7-OH has stopped feeling like the solution it once did, there are other options.

“I thought it would be hard to have that personal relationship with someone.”

Then Tosha met her peer.

More than three years later, that relationship has become a place she can turn on the hard days, to someone who understands addiction from lived experience.

“It’s like talking to a sister.”

For Tosha, finding that person who understands because they've been there too was life-saving.

Reaching out for help with 7-OH can already feel hard. Having to explain what it is to a provider shouldn’t make it harder.

At Boulder, our clinicians understand 7-OH and have established medical protocols to help patients taper safely and with as little unnecessary suffering as possible.

You deserve care from someone who gets it.

7-OH use can change from being helpful to a problem itself, so it’s important to recognize the signs.

Withdrawal, stronger cravings, needing more to get the same effect, spending more than you want to, or feeling like you need 7-OH just to feel “normal” can all be signs that your use is becoming harder to control.

And with a potential federal ban on certain 7-OH products under consideration, there’s a lot of uncertainty right now.

Whatever happens with regulation, people who use 7-OH deserve accurate information, support, and care without judgment.

If you’re worried about your use or thinking about cutting back, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

“It got the best of me.”

After a car accident and back injury, Tosha was prescribed pain medication. What followed is a much bigger story of addiction, loss, and — eventually — recovery.

This is one window into Tosha’s story, told in her own words.
