This one was one my mind for a long time 🤓.
I remember watching @jwebxl crushing 💪„Casavino“ in one of the Mellow videos and thinking: This boulder is way to coo and I need to try it one day. Since I’m not really the most dynamic climber 🙈 I tried to improve on that in my training quite a lot by doing bigger moves on the training wall 🚀. Even though „Casavino“ might not exactly be my style I was keen on improving and trying 🙏. In the end I have to admit that I got a bit scared of trying since being close without sending felt liek an option and a nightmare 👻at the same time. So I’m really happy 😊 that I could finish this chapter and send „Casavino“, one of the coolest Boulders around Ticino and a true 💎.

I‘m back home from yet another Font trip, and I am still confused that my journey with this climb is over now.
The Big Island - a climb that was present in my mind for the last three years🤯!
More than happy that I was finally able to climb this iconic line 😁.

I‘ll prepare a little in-depth view of that journey (for me to reflect on it and in case anybody wants to read it #bringbacktheblog ).

Yesterday something special happened. After some really close goes in the sessions before I was finally able to climb "the story of 2 worlds" in #cresciano . This climb means a lot to me. I still remember how impressed I was when I first saw a picture of @dave_graham_ climbing it and how syked I got when I first saw it in reality. Years later when I tried the "Dagger" I decided to try the moves of "Story..." since the end of "Dagger" was wet. The idea of climbing the full line was born even tho I was still struggling with "Dagger". So over the years I tested my chances in "Story..."
Last year I came painfully close before it got to warm. But this season was mine. After constantly thinking about it during my training sessions I'm really happy to close this chapter.

Verdena
Nice little block from Val Daone. Felt a bit like climbing on a board 😁.
Originally I had plans to try Rude but higher temps ☀️🔥 and limited time ⌚️made me change the plan after two sessions. Instead I decided to try stuff that felt doable within relatively short time. Verdena seemed to tick the bock. Happy to put this one down.

Hat trick Sit:
Not a lot of background story behind this one rather than: man do I like feet first 😅!
Saw a few videos of this one and was syked to check it out. Took me quite a bit to figure out how to hold the right hand starting hold, but once that was covered I made it to the toehook-throw at the and and missed it 😅🙈.
A bit of tinkering with my beta and some privat coaching from @potridge_ convinced me to give one last try of the day. And with a bit of tryhard I was able to climb this beauty in a single session ☺️.

An other one from Magic Wood 🌲.
When I tried „Steppenwolf“ over 8 years ago I wrote it off as antistyle and to hard. I didn’t made it back until @lilli__pauline was syked for the boulder. Watching LilK making the moves look easy got me syked but that day my focus was still on Ill Trill so I didn’t put my shoes on. Maybe I was also shy on failing hardcore in front of Lil Krusher 🤷‍♂️.
But after climbing Ill Trill I got nothing to do so I had a look at Steppenwolf again. This time it felt way better but the session was quite short due to tiredness (I went there at the end of the third day on😅🙈). One restday later it felt like a different boulder. The moves felt so much better and on@my first go of the day I punted the last move already. At tiny beta adjustment and one go later I found myself on top of Steppenwolf, a bloc that I always wrote off as to much antistyle. Feels nice to see the progress 😁.
PS: I think LilK should go back with good condies and will crush this. At least I‘m certain I could not habe climbed this midday in summer 😅.

Ill Trill (8B+) im Magic Wood – und die Geschichte hinter meinem Durchstieg

Es überrascht mich immer wieder, wie fein die Linie zwischen einem schnellen Durchstieg und einer mittelschweren Psychose sein kann.

Letzte Saison ging Wovenhand (8B Stehstart) für meine Verhältnisse (und mein leicht fortgeschrittenes Alter 😉) ziemlich flott. Das eigentliche Ziel war aber schon immer der Sitzstart: Ill Trill. Seit dem Video von @paulrobinson87 über den FA wollte ich diesen Boulder unbedingt klettern.
Die Einzelzüge fühlten sich gut an, also rechnete ich mit einem kurzen Intermezzo. Spoiler: Es wurde ein langer mentaler Kampf.

Zuerst machten mir die Sommertemperaturen einen Strich durch die Rechnung. Der Aufschub auf den Herbst endete in Nervenflattern: Mehrfach fiel ich ganz oben raus, und jeder Versuch machte mich im Ausstieg nur noch nervöser.
Meine Lösung? Klassische Expositionstherapie: All-in in der nächsten Saison!

Trotz etlicher Sessions und viel Typ-2-Spaß machen die Züge einfach riesig Bock. Als nach der x-ten Hitzewelle endlich kühle Luft einzog, wollte ich eigentlich nur noch eine Session dranhängen, um fit für die kalten Tage zu bleiben.
Nach vier Versuchen fand ich mich völlig überrascht wieder vor dem letzten Zug. Doch statt der gewohnten Panik schaltete mein Kopf endlich auf Vollkontakt. Mit den letzten Körnern schraubte ich die Griffe zu, setzte an und hielt den Zug endlich vom Boden ab!

Viel später als gedacht, hatte ich endlich Ill Trill geklettert!
Aber wer mich kennt weiss auch, die nächste Psychose steht wahrscheinlich schon irgendwo im Wald und wartet darauf, entdeckt zu werden.

„Fliegender Neandertaler“ probably a FA as well.

After sending „From Franken with Love“ I had some energy left so I decided to try this one as well.
Really cool moves on this one👍, holding the swing feels so satisfying 😁.

Limestone-Action at its best 😅
Nice little combination that served me as a really cool trainings bloc 😁. Took me quite a while to put it together but I really enjoyed the moves on this one and I think its a really cool addition to the crag👍.
The name comes from a comment from a friend when I showed him a video of a previous try. His statement: looks like something in Frankenjura
Which might have been a compliment 😅
