A why-choose by J. Rose??? Urm, of course I was going to be all over this!!

This was quite dark so check your triggers before jumping in. The suspense throughout this was absolutely selling me, page after page I was almost giving myself whiplash with how fast I was going - and I’m sorry but that plot at the end too? THE RING???? Jaw was on the floor let me tell you.

Everleigh is on the run from her abusive husband and ends up residing in a little Lake District town, with nowhere to go and absolutely no idea what she’s getting herself into. After accepting help from a stranger, she starts to realise that maybe the town is different; everyone looks out for each other and everyone seems to know everyone.

Insert two brothers and a best-friend 👀👀 Leo is the cheeky sweetheart trying to keep his family together, Sterling is the more guarded, protective, and possessive one, whilst Fletcher is the quiet, broody protector with enough trauma to fill an entire therapy waiting room. What I liked most about them all is how they’re all dealing with their own struggles deep down, their lives aren’t all sunshine and rainbows; they see the struggles Everleigh is facing in her own mind and they become a support bubble for her. I can’t say I have a favourite out of the three of them but I can’t help having a soft spot for Fletcher 🥺 The way him and Everleigh are telepathic and can understand each other so well 💙

The spice was delicious as expected, I kinda wish there were a few more scenes because they were hot!! A massive green flag was how respectful they all were of Everleigh, given what she had been through, the guys made it clear she was in control and it was endearing to see her come out of her shell and take charge.

I thoroughly enjoyed this - plenty of suspense, some seriously damaged men, found family, and a solid mystery plot.

Did I scream when I found out I was receiving a PR box for Colt? YES I ABSOLUTELY DID!! This was the most amazing surprise and I’m so grateful to @jessicapauthor and @valentine_pr_ for sending me these goodies and ARC/ALC copy 🥹🧡

The box itself got absolutely demolished in the post but I couldn’t be happier to finally have Colt in my hands 😍

I went into this one already intrigued by Colt after getting little glimpses of him in the Lucky River Ranch series, but I was not prepared for how obsessed I was going to become with him.

The banter between these two was probably one of my favourite things about the book. Colt is grumpy, stubborn and honestly a bit of an asshole at times, but watching Lainey get under his skin was so entertaining. He desperately wanted to dislike her, and I loved watching him slowly realise that maybe he didn’t hate her quite as much as he thought he did.

Their chemistry was also incredibly HOT! The tension between them built really well and when things finally happened… yeah, definitely not one for listening around other people 😂 The spice was delicious, and there were a few scenes that had me smirking like an idiot - that mechanical bull scene though!!! Hell freaking yes!!!

I really loved the family dynamic in this book, especially Colt’s relationship with his son, Dean. Dean was honestly adorable, and seeing his relationship with Lainey develop was so sweet. Their bond added another layer to the story and I loved how naturally she became part of their lives.

I decided to jump between reading and listening but I must say the duet narration was SUCH a good choice for this story. Vanessa Edwin and Aiden Snow brought so much personality to Lainey and Colt, and the banter between them was even better because of it. The tension, the arguments and, of course, the spicy scenes all felt so much more immersive - they best be narrating the rest of the series because I would eat it up!!

Oh, Ace Sterling, the man that you are 😩😍 I think I found my new favourite cowboyyyyyyyyyy!

Who gave Luna Mason the right to produce such a fine specimen of a man - he is every woman’s dream, I beggggg.

Second chance romances have never been my thing, but this?? This has well and truly changed my mind - if every second chance romance is like this then I want it burning my eyeballs immediately. The yearning and longing between Ace and Harper literally made me feel like I was the bait on the end of a fishing line; Luna slowly teasing and reeling me in 🎣

Not only was it impossible to not swoon over Ace, this man comes with so much love and loyalty. The man waited 6 whole years for this woman and even became celibate - I mean come onnn! There is no denying the chemistry between them both, every scene with them felt like I was reading two people fall in love for the first time over and over again; I honestly couldn’t get enough. Every love comes with heartbreak though and boy did Luna have me on the edge of my seat with this - can confirm I was a complete wreck at one point.

That ending though, I cannot fault it. Luna always gives us a HEA but I generally think that was one of the loveliest, most heartwarming endings I’ve ever read in a book - I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face - I couldn’t imagine a world where Ace and Harper aren’t together, they were simply made to be.

Urm and you also should’ve seen me screaming for Colten and Gianna, but then the scene with Colten and Romeo!!!! I can’t evennnn, Colten’s book is going to be one hell of a ride and I’m so freaking here for it 👏🏻
