According to Friedrich Nietzsche, true intellectual freedom requires us to go through three spiritual transformations:
🐪 The Camel: Carrying the heavy burdens and rules of society.
🦁 The Lion: Rebelling against those rules and fighting for freedom.
👶 The Child: Letting go of the past to create your own values and meaning.

How does a normal person lose their mind? It happens in three steps.

1️⃣ Bias: You prefer what feels good.
2️⃣ The Echo Chamber: You only listen to people who agree with you.
3️⃣ Blind Trust: You surrender your moral compass to a leader or an ideology.

Psychology tells us that thinking for yourself is a heavy burden. It is much easier to let someone else tell you what is right and wrong. But the price of that comfort is your identity. Never kill the observer inside you.

patriotism isn't about blind obedience to whoever is in charge.

The Country > The Government: A "country" is the people, the land, the culture, and the foundational ideals. The "government" is just the temporary administration—the politicians and bureaucracy currently holding power.

History shows that governments naturally tend to expand their own power. If left unchecked, they can become corrupt, oppressive, or start acting against the best interests of the people.

A true patriot doesn’t just wave a flag and blindly agree with everything the state does. Their actual duty is to act as a watchdog—holding leaders accountable and pushing back when the government's actions threaten the nation's core values or its citizens. by @boundlessthinking_

Mahatma Gandhi’s core philosophy replaces the traditional goal of defeating an opponent with the radical aim of morally transforming them through Ahimsa (non-violence) and Satyagraha (truth-force).

"An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind."
Philosophically, this is a profound critique of retributive justice—the ancient idea that justice requires inflicting the same pain on the wrongdoer that they caused you. Gandhi argues that retaliation is a mathematical failure. Responding to violence with violence doesn't restore balance to the universe; it simply doubles the amount of suffering. From an ethical standpoint, it traps humanity in a deterministic loop of revenge, destroying the community (making the "world blind") rather than healing the root cause of the conflict.

"I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent."
This addresses the classic philosophical debate of Means vs. Ends. Machiavellian philosophy suggests that the ends justify the means (e.g., fighting a violent war is fine if it leads to peace). Gandhi completely flipped this script. He believed in means-ends equivalence—the idea that the methods you use inherently shape the final result. If you use violence to achieve a noble goal, the victory relies on fear and suppression, which is inherently unstable (temporary good). However, the trauma, hatred, and normalization of force introduced into society alter its psychological fabric forever (permanent evil).

"Non-violence is the first article of my faith. It is also the last article of my creed."
Here, Gandhi elevates Ahimsa (non-violence) from a political strategy to an absolute moral imperative. In philosophy, this is akin to what Immanuel Kant called a "categorical imperative"—a universal law that must be followed regardless of the situation. By framing it as both his "first" and "last" article, Gandhi asserts that non-violence is the ontological baseline of human existence. It is the starting point of any action and the ultimate goal of human evolution. For Gandhi, you cannot separate Truth (Satya) from Non-violence (Ahimsa); they are two sides of the same coin. by @boundlessthinking_
