So much for my book-buying ban… 😂📚

Apparently, my TBR wasn’t intimidating enough, so I decided to make things worse. And of course, I couldn’t resist adding more classics to my collection!

📖 The latest additions to my bookshelf:

* Great Expectations — Charles Dickens
* David Copperfield — Charles Dickens
* A Tale of Two Cities — Charles Dickens
* The Best of Fyodor Dostoevsky
* The Silent Patient — Alex Michaelides

Three Dickens books, some Dostoevsky, and a psychological thriller. My reading list is officially getting out of hand. 😭😂

But honestly, can you really blame a reader for buying more books when there are so many stories left to discover?

Have you read any of these? Which one should I pick up first? 👀📚

Sometimes you just need a book that’s pure fun, and The Legend of Uh by @aaronn.hall is the perfect escape!

Funny, adventurous, and packed with feel-good fantasy vibes. A fun little side quest that’s easy to get lost in. Definitely worth picking up!

I’ve been feeling like I need to remind myself of this lately: it’s okay not to read all the time📚

Sometimes it is exhausting, and reading simply isn’t the kind of rest I need. And honestly, that’s okay. Hobbies are supposed to bring us joy, not feel like another thing on our to-do list.

Having a bookish account can sometimes make me feel guilty for not reading constantly. I catch myself thinking I should be reading more, when realistically, no one cares except me. And somehow, I end up stressing myself out over something that’s supposed to be a hobby.

So, if you’re taking a break from reading, don’t feel guilty. Rest however you need to. The books will still be there when you’re ready. ❤️

❄️ Cold Wind by Andrew Givler — 5⭐️

You must read this next!!😁

Well, technically, you need to read Ironbound first….which is also amazing and then jump straight into Cold Wind! 🔥

My man Andrew Givler really took Cold Wind to the next level!! Bigger stakes, more action, more magic, and a whole lot more trouble for Castor.

I really enjoyed watching the characters develop and seeing the world expand. The progression and magic system are still some of my favorite parts, and there were plenty of moments where I just had to keep reading because I needed to know what happened next.

Honestly, book two did exactly what I wanted it to do make me want book three immediately😂

@sigils you are the man! 🫡🔥

📖 A Tale of Two Cities — Charles Dickens (1859)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…”

London. Paris. Revolution. Love. Sacrifice.

Dickens weaves together the lives of Charles Darnay, Lucie Manette, and Sydney Carton against the chaos of the French Revolution. But for me, the real magic was in his writing — atmospheric, beautifully descriptive, and sometimes haunting.

Sydney Carton’s journey of sacrifice and redemption is what stayed with me the most. 🥀

This was my first Dickens, and although his prose can be slow and dense at times, I’m definitely looking forward to reading more of his work.

Some books entertain you.
Some books stay with you.

This one did both. 📚
Definitely a book that gives you plenty to think about long after you’ve finished it.
“It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done.”

📖 Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

I’ve started Jane Eyre and I’m currently around Chapter 10. So far, I’m really drawn to the atmosphere of this book. There’s something dark, mysterious, and almost haunting about it that makes it easy to get pulled into Jane’s world.

Jane is already a character I’m very interested in. She may be quiet and reserved, but there’s a strong sense of independence and self-respect in her. I love that she has her own thoughts, feelings, and principles, even when life doesn’t give her many choices.

The pacing is slower than what I usually read, but I’m enjoying taking my time with it. The writing has a certain richness to it, and I’m especially curious about Thornfield and the mysteries surrounding it.

I’m only at Chapter 10, so there’s clearly still a lot to discover.

Current status: Chapter 10
Rating so far: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½

No final rating yet… I’ve got a long way to go. 😂

Have you read Jane Eyre? What did you think of it?

Let’s see where Jane’s story takes me. 👀📚

📚 Stop reading classics like you read every other book.
Ever told someone you’re reading a classic, only to hear:
“But what’s the story about?”
“That sounds boring.”
“And… that’s it?” 😭
I get it. Classics can sometimes feel slow, strange, or even confusing when we focus only on what happens.
But classics often ask us to look deeper. 👀
✨ Look beyond the literal story.
🔎 Notice the symbolism.
🏛️ Understand the society behind the book.
💭 Look for the bigger philosophical idea.
Sometimes, the real story isn’t just what happens to the characters—it’s what the book is trying to tell us about being human.
So the next time a classic feels “boring,” try asking:
What am I missing beneath the story? 📖
Save this post for your next classic read, and share it with someone who thinks classics are boring. 😉

📖 Ironbound by Andrew Givler
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ / 5

Honestly, I didn’t expect Ironbound to get to me like this. 😭

I picked it up for the progression fantasy, the magic system, and all the action, but somewhere along the way I got really attached to the characters.

And Castor… man. 😭 His journey was rough. There were so many times I was just sitting there thinking, “Can this guy please catch a break?” Watching everything he goes through and how it changes him really got to me.

I really enjoyed the world and the magic, but it was the emotional side of the story that stuck with me the most.

It’s dark, brutal, heartbreaking, and somehow still manages to give you a little hope.

Also, this was definitely a “just one more chapter” kind of book. 😂⚔️

And a big thank you to John Glaude @bookguyjohn for recommending this one to me! 🙌 I probably wouldn’t have picked it up otherwise, so I’m really glad you put it on my radar.💪 and I thank the author @sigils @aethonbooks

4.5/5 ⭐️

If you like fantasy that makes you actually feel something, I’d definitely recommend this one.
