Today, 71 freshly minted Physiotherapists of Bowen University, The Laureates class of 2026, were formally inducted into the physiotherapy profession by the Registrar/CEO of the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists (Registration) Board of Nigeria (MRTB) at our 7th Physiotherapy Induction Ceremony.

The Laureates is a name befitting a set whose journey has been marked by perseverance, learning, sacrifice and the pursuit of excellence. Today, they step forward, ready to help people overcome physical limitations and reclaim possibilities.

And among these outstanding 71 graduates, three distinguished themselves:
🥉 CHIZHI OHAHURU
Third Best Graduating Physiotherapist

🥈 FAVOUR AYORINDE
Second Best Graduating Physiotherapist

🏆 CHINMA OKORO
Overall Best Graduating Physiotherapist

Congratulations to The Laureates.

BUT TODAY, OUR CELEBRATION CARRIES A MOMENT OF REMEMBRANCE. 🕊️

Among those who should have stood with The Laureates today was Demilade, who we sadly lost in November 2025.

Though absent from today’s ceremony, he is not forgotten. His place in the story of this set remains, and his memory will always be part of the journey they shared.
To The Laureates, as you go forth into the world, carry the torch for Demilade. Let his memory live on in the lives you touch, the patients you help to walk again, the hope you restore, the dignity you protect and the compassion you show to those entrusted to your care.
Let every life you help transform become a part of the legacy you carry for him.

Congratulations once again. Your story has only just begun by @bowenuniversity

Every year, our Directorate of Health Services, together with our students, takes healthcare beyond the campus to our host and surrounding communities, providing free medical services and care to those we are privileged to call neighbours.

This year, we captured a little of that journey on camera.

But the story did not begin with the camera.

It began with a commitment to serve.

And as long as there are communities to reach and lives to touch, Bowen will keep showing up.

Beyond the campus. Into the community. In service of humanity.

In 2010, Folasade Adebukola Olapade came to Bowen University as an NYSC corps member, posted to the Audit Unit.
She served with excellence.
Then got retained and became Internal Auditor II, and she kept rising through the ranks.

Today, she has risen to one of the highest administrative positions in her professional career to become the 5th Substantive Bursar of Bowen.

Folasade’s journey is a reminder to every young person that where you start does not have to determine where you end.
To every young Bowenite, and aspiring professional;
Dare to dream.
Dare to start.
Dare to grow.
Dare to become.
Because sometimes, the place where your journey begins can also become the place where your greatest possibilities unfold.

Congratulations, Mrs. Folasade Adebukola Olapade, 5th Substantive Bursar, Bowen University.

Today, Bowen bids farewell to a scientist par excellence, an inspiring mentor, and a devoted teacher as Professor Babatunde Adebiyi Olunlade of the Food Science and Technology Programme delivers his Valedictory Lecture.

For decades, he has shaped minds, advanced food science research, nurtured generations of students, and contributed immensely to the growth of Bowen University.
Under his leadership as HOD of FST, Bowen’s very first FULL ACCREDITATION status was secured, in the early days of the university’s establishment.

As he takes his final bow from active academic service, we celebrate a legacy of excellence, scholarship, leadership, and impact.

Thank you, Prof. Olunlade, for serving with distinction. Your legacy will continue to nourish generations to come. by @bowenuniversity
